Default How to save emails when your email account is full?

I am not very computer literate, so please bare with me! I have an email account through my job, and I have a lot of old emails saved. I got an email from the IT people who said that my email inbox is getting full. I am a pack rat, and I want to save it all! For me, it's also about "cya" - even though some of this stuff is years old, I want to keep it all just in case. If it helps, we use Zimbra at work.

So, I understand that I have to empty my email acct., but I'd like opinions on the best way to save them somewhere else.

Should I try to download all of them to a flash drive?

Should I open a free email somewhere else (yahoo or gmail or something) and forward all of the emails there?

I have no idea what the "cloud" stuff is, or how to access it, but is that something I should research? I'm looking for something free.

Any other options that I'm not aware of?

Thanks in advance for your information!

Creat a folder and store your emails you want to save in that folder...that is what I do. Then when you save them to the folder, you can delete them out of the main email area....you will still be able to access them in the folder, but they will not be held hostage in your inbox.

I hope this makes sense...good luck

Peace~

If it were me I'd save them to a flash drive so as not to use any storage resources that IT could bitch about. You need to refer to the archives, just pop in the flash drive and bring up what you need. If the emails are sensitive you might want to encrypt the folder you create on the flash drive.
