Default "Ice Interest Noted" on Release papers

Today my husband got a release determination that changed his release date to a year sooner. But the paper also had a note on it that said "Ice interest Noted." My husband immigrated here when he was 8 and holds a green card. He also has two strikes so I'm wondering if this might mean that ICE is going to look into deporting him back and taking away his green card. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Have you checked to see if any charges or convictions he has are on the deportable offenses list for ICE?

Most likely if he has strikes he has been arrested and convicted for something ICE considers deportable. Unfortunately length of time in US and having a green card will not help him.

If I were in your shoes I would start making decisions on how you would proceed if he does get deported.

(((((hugs))))) and welcome to the immigration forum ask away vent away we are all in different stages of deportation but will try and help and support the best we can.

Default "Ice Interest Noted"

I have the same question. My son is on an ICE hold and I always wonder whether he will have to serve his entire sentence before probable deportation. Does anyone know whether it is a common practice to release a person earlier when s/he is going to be deported?

State prisoners in California (not sure about other states) have to finish their state sentence before being picked-up by ICE.

ICE may pick-up a couple of days before or a couple of days after the state release date but usually it is right on the date as long as it is not a holiday or weekend.
