I know I already posted in this thread but I just wanted to day that he has been in now 10 years of a life sentence on a first offense.... and he is still innocent... it is so sad that anyone other then a serial get a life sentence. How else will they prove they have reformed if they do not get out to get that chance?? Our justice system needs a serious overhaul

I totally agree. My LO has been in 16 yrs already. He has spent all of his young adult life in prison. He has been in every since he was 18. This was his first offense also. He has changed tremendously for the better. I truly believe that some people can change. I just wish our justice system would take a look at that and do things better to help people that are incarcerated instead of just keeping them locked away from the people who love them so much. They are giving people these long sentences and its really not helping them. I just wish things were different. May God bless each & everyone of us.

My King has been in prison for 17 years and he is only 34. I'm aware that "if you do the crime, you have to do the time", but some of these punishments do not fit the crime. The fact that he was 17 when he went in but won't get his 1st parole hearing til 2047 is a shame and a disgrace! one would think that he was a mass murderer. I guess the system wanted to send a message and make an example out of him.
