Notice to new members intending to register - from January 9th 2012

Hey Guys,

I just love this board. I check it every day.

Anyways, I am wondering if any former FBOP members, or any family of FBOP, know of any South Africans that are currently in FED?

I have Dutch descent South Africans in my family; and one would like to write to an inmate. If they speak Afrikaans that would great be a bonus.

I looked at BOP website, and would have to do a "Freedom of Information Act" request in order to find out. That would be kind of a pain.

Please ask your men/women when you contact them. This could help shed light into an inmate's life that would otherwise have none.

Please IM me with any questions/info; and reply to this thread.

Sorry, none that I met, but I'm sure there are some in the bop. Maybe the SA embassy could tell you.

I've only known of one but he's been released and deported back to South Africa. You might try googling something like this: "South Africa" convicted "U.S. District Court" and it likely will come up with articles with possible names.

Welcome to PTO. You may want to check over in the Pen Pal forum. If you go to the main forum area here http://www.prisontalk.com/forums/index.php and scroll almost to the bottom, there is an entire section dedicated to pen pals. I believe there is even one for International pen pals.

I did send an email to all 4 of the SA consulates. I doubt they will even reply. Imagine a WHOLE COUNTRY that is run as efficiently as the BOP.... and you have South Africa.

You would not believe the incompetence, and neglect, on every level in that country... but that is a whole other topic.

Anyways, fingers crossed.

Yea, I got some replies from SA Consulates... totally useless... figures.

Anyways... Ladies please ask your men if there are any South Africans they know of. Any info from former BOP guests welcome as well!!!

I did that quite a bit. Not allot of info, kept coming up with info on South African companies paying fines. Nothing about individuals.

I welcome anyone who has stronger Googlfoo than I.
