I am new to this & Ive sent like 6 letters in the last 4 months cause he was being transferred n a whole mess of run around - finally after months he got someone to call me & ask me if I was getting his letters ;( & I havnt gotten nothing he told the guy he sent 3 ;( wtf im upset . Do you think it could b my mailing address? I've got the letters going to my cousin house so my mom wouldnt open them she is so nosey at 21 years old. But I sent him another letter with my home address I hope I get something soon .how long does it usually take for them to recieve or for you to recieve ? Does anyone know if a po box would b better ? If I put money in the account for him to call me how long is usually the call ? I know before it was like $25 or $50 limit & 25$ got you like an hour ;( that's nothing especially when you havnt spoken to the person in months all you wana do is hear there voice ;( lmk please any advice

My hubby was moved to Suwannee CI today, can anyone tell me anything about it? Just want to hear what kind of place it is and if anyone has had any issues.

I went to visit my husband at Suwannee. The CO was fine. They do not have contact visits for him b/c he is in close management. He says that its extremely cold there and the ac is freezing. he hopes to be placed in main soon.

I bet the guys on the work camp side would love to have that complaint. My husbands letters are smeared this time of year.

Is there anyone with a loved one at Suwanne Annex? how long is usually the visitation approval? the phone approval? anyone do visits there? how are they ? what are prices there for snacks and food? can you take pictures there with your inmate? i heard this in another fl post.

my hubby transferred there on 7/9 is now in the work camp & i had my first viso today. i know he has said that they are strict at the w.c. & other inmtes have said that it is much more strict in comparison to other w.c. they have been at.

Hi my husband is on CM 1 at Swuannee CI and i was wondering if anyone had experience with that facility?

I know calls are once a month on CM 1.. but he says they say they are too busy to make a call ;( was wondering if your man or someone you know was on CM 1.. what days or time do they normally allow you to call!?

I been waiting and waiting, and nothing.. ;( i miss him and this is so hard!!!!!

Yes I came up for the 1st time last weekend 11/18 was our very 1st visit and it was good no real issues just emotional for us

But I am actually here now I came up for 3 days and got a hotel since it was the holiday and it has been HELL at visit!! I drive from St.Pete/Tampa area so it's about 3hrs one way and when I got there yesterday it wasn't to bad to be checked in, but the the female CO's are horrible!! They treat them and us like we don't deserve to even be there! Today it took them 45 min to check people in when I got there! They were checking one person at a time , and there is an older lady that they call Grandma Dynamite who had the nerve to ask if I was wearing underwear because I had on white capri jeans and since my underwear were white as well, she couldn't see them so I had to show her the side of them! All the CO's this weekend were horrible and it made our visit very uncomfortable. They go up to your table and stand and listen and watch over you constantly! It was just horrible today! It's only this crew because the other crew from last weekend is not the same way, they were very nice and laid back and friendly!! So I'm only coming when the other crew is working LOL !! Everyone was complaining today !!

On a holiday weekend like this you'll get a lot of staff working the VP that usually don't. We had the same thing where my husband is - a lot of unfamiliar faces on staff today, and missing regular ones.

I've recently started writing with a friend of mine who is at the Suwannee work camp and I have put in a visitation request. Can anyone tell me what to expect when visiting? What is it like? Is it indoor or outdoor? I have read all the what you can and can't do and what you can and can't bring sections of the form but I didn't see anything about taking pictures. Can you take pictures with an inmate? and if so, what type of camera are you allowed to bring (disposable, etc)?

Any information you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much for your time and responses in advance!

i am not sure about Suwannee but most of the prisons have a camera at the prison and they will take a picture of you and your love one for a few bucks. i dont think you are allowed to bring in a camera i am 100% sure you cant.

Possessing a camera of any kind is absolutely not allowed at visitation. Once you are on prison property - and that includes the parking lot - no photography of any kind is allowed.

One of the services offered through the Keefe canteen service in the DOC-run camp VP's, though, is a photo service. You buy tickets for $2 each at the canteen window. Each one is worth one 4x6 print. You give the tickets to an inmate whose job is "cameraman". They take posed photos of you in designated areas. The photos have to be approved by staff.
