Louisiana has set an execution date of August 15 for Jason Reeves. Sad case. My thoughts are with all those touched by this tragedy.

Very sad case indeed. This date will almost certainly be stayed. Jason Reeves has not exhausted his appeals.

"Jason Reeves was scheduled to be executed on August 15, 2012, at the Louisiana State Penitentiary in Angola, Louisiana. Jason is convicted of kidnapping, raping, and killing 4-year-old Mary Jean Thigpen on November 12, 2001, in Moss Bluff, Louisiana. Jason’s execution has been stayed to allow time for additional appeals."
