Default Not giving up, any legal advice appreciated.

My fiance is from Romania, but has been here since 13 or 14 years old. He does have a robbery charge, and is expected to go in front of an immigration judge. I don't want to give up on this. There has to be something that can be done, in order for him to stay. Would it help if we were married? Is there anything we can do? Please help me.

Sorry to tell you, but it does not help if you're married. Didn't help my husband, and we have a 2 year old son together. And he is in for a theft and fraud charge, and once deported will be given a forever ban on coming back because he's an aggravated felon. If you want, you can always consult with an immigration attorney to see if anything can be done. A first time consultation is around $150 and you can let them know the situation and see what their advice is. Just make sure they don't give you false hope, and you end up with the same outcome as not having a lawyer. And remember in ICE, a pro bono lawyer is not provided like in criminal courts. Good luck.

Please never get married with the hope of keeping him in the country. Think of how hard it would be to un do a marriage if he is taken way. Find another solution! Hope it works out for you.

It's not that I'm wanting to marry him only to keep him here. I want to marry him anyway. I can't imagine being with anyone else. I love this man with all my heart and soul. I'm not sure what is going to happen to me, when he does get deported. I honestly don't think there is much hope, but I don't want to give up. I just keep thinking maybe there is a loop hole somewhere.

Drea- Do you plan to move with your husband?

Yes m'am, we are moving there too. It's going to be hard for us, I have been in the States for 18 years, and our son was born here, but it's the best thing for our family. Romania is a beautiful country with some great people. And if Romania doesn't work out, we have other parts of Europe that we are interested in. Unfortunately it is just how it is and we cannot change the situation. I see it as a blessing in disguise really. He would have gotten in a lot more trouble here if he didn't change his ways, and really, our life was hopeless for the most part. We are ready to start a new beginning.

That's good. I'm happy for you all. I can't move to Romania, I have two children here, that are to grown up, and wouldn't want to move. Our family is here. So, I guess we'll wait and see what happens.

I feel you!! I am in the same situation! I am marrying my man anyways but being that I am a US born citizen I want to do what I can to stop that deportation and like you I have children so we cannot just pack and leave! I wish you the best and don't let anyone bring you down. Stick to your heart and whatever anybody else thinks is their problem!

Im waiting and hoping my husband doesnt have to be deported. We hired 3 good lawyers and are spending lots on cancelling the deportation order he has. . I have 2 children from a previous marriage and 1 child with him so things would be very hard if we had to move to his country.. especially since its a 24 hour flight away Bangladesh! Hes on ICE hold now since Oct 2 so we are hoping we can get him out soon
