Article: Burglary suspect just hanging out

RAPID CITY - Police officers responding to a report of a burglary in progress Sept. 13 didn't have to look far to find their suspect.

When officers arrived at the 1300 block of Atlas Street, they found a man hanging out the window of an apartment. The apartment's resident was hanging onto him from the inside, according to the arrest report.

The man outside, Alex Virgil Little White Man, 22, Rapid City, was arrested and has been charged with first-degree burglary, a crime punishable by 25 years in prison and a $25,000 fine upon conviction.

According to the arrest report, Little White Man used a knife to cut screens to the apartment's bedroom and bathroom, eventually trying to enter the bathroom. The man who lived there with his family was able to catch him before he got away and held him until police arrived.

After his arrest, Little White Man allegedly told police, "Man, you guys sure caught me."

Little White Man was ordered not to contact the apartment residents, whom he did not know.
