How do you find out if your LO is in the SHU? Will they tell you or do we just have to wait until our LO contacts us?

It takes awhile...so if your man doesnt call or email you when they let them have a few hours out that may indicate he is in the shu. But realize there will be long lines to use phone/computers so he may not be able to use them. You should write him letters if you think he is there and in a week or so he will have sent you a letter. Thats what happened with me.

The prison probably won't tell you if he is in the SHU, or even tell you that the prison is on lockdown, so your loved one is the only way to find out. Letters work both ways, but no email, and only one short phone call every month in the SHU.

Also 2 hours every week behind glass during visiting time.

Thank you everyone for your help! I just heard from my husband just now. They let them out for modified programs & to shower, but have to lockdown after. He thinks it's gonna be like this for the rest of the year, but will let me know as soon as they come out again. I hope you all have heard from your LO's.

I got an email from my bf as well. He said they were locking back in at 3:00 today but he was told tomorrow they may be on a normal program. He won't know for sure until the morning though. So as usual everything is a wait and see.

My husband emailed & called me yesterday early afternoon. He said they are locking them down at 3p and only out for showers & modified programs. He's hoping they're out by this weekend, but with how this new Warden is they all lockdown if ANYONE does something wrong...

I hope you all hear from your LO soon if you haven't. Prayers for all of you!

It may end today but will happen again and again....so technically there is no end to the lockdowns. I hope I am wrong but 2 months and 5 lockdowns...looks pretty grim.

My bf called me at 11am (PDT). He said literally minute by minute right now they don't know when they're locking down. He was expecting our call to get interrupted (luckily it didn't). He also indicated he thought they may be on full lockdown through the whole weekend but wasn't sure as things are changing on a daily basis. This warden is a piece of work.

Mine called at 1225 today and guess what I accidentally made it go to my voicemai! Grrrrrr...This warden is not so new....he was warden at Victorville in 2012-2014 and thats how he played it by locking down all the time. So how will we know if we can visit? I guess call on that day to see if we can so that is gonna make it very hard on visitors that live far away. But that is nothing new as we know there is no empathy for the families much less for our men.

Right Caligirl! My husband transferred there during that time he was previously Warden and he did the same. My visiting form wasn't even approved until I had to beg a staff member and tell her it had been 6 months going on 7 on waiting to hear about it since his counselor kept saying he never saw it.

The fact of the matter is, it will be like this so long as Quintana is Warden. It's all politics! I refuse to let someone in that authoritative position blatantly punish everyone and not let my voice be heard. They've already done the worst they can do...

You are absolutely right Melody!! Not to mention healthcare issues not being addressed and visitation (when they are NOT on lockdown) having adopted punitive measures against not only our men but also families etc etc...It is time to take a stand.

I received a call from my man..he sounds real weary and down because of these constant lockdowns. Hopefully everyone has heard from their loved ones...as I stated on the other thread ...please private message me if you want to join our group...I understand people are afraid of retaliation but I am more afraid of the damage these lockdowns and future never-ending lockdowns are doing to our men and to their/our families. Stay strong!! I wont post anymore about this because I gotta get down to business and start on the work ahead of us.

Default Lockdown again

I posted on the other thread by what my man says is that there was a race riot in 4A and they will be on lockdown for a long time. He said he believes it was the blacks against the southsiders. So I think those involved were bruised but not seriously hurt otherwise we would have read about it in Victorville News. They also were conducting an annual inspection and this went down when they were there. Obviously all these lockdowns are not working but causing much more tension.
