Does anyone know if other out of state facilities are currently allowing family visits?

FYI for all you ladies, I was just reading in the California forum that family visits for the state of CA may get abolished because of Marcy's Law that's suppose to go onto the ballot this November. Anyone hear about this?

It is a Crime Victim's Bill targeted at making it worse for all our loved ones incarcerated.

Does anyone know if it's true that they are currently building rooms for family visits?

Yeah, I concur. The new buildings will be labeled N, O, P and this is to switch the non trouble makers to these buildings so when the trouble makers start acting up, the good ones are not punished (lockdown) along with them. So this is a good thing for our guys.

A few months ago, there were rumors about the establishment of family visiting, however, as to date, there hasn't been any news.

Thank you for the information Liroje and Mrz!. I just don't get it. It doesn't make sense that Tccf, which happens to be the farthest out-of-state facility from CA and is the most populated, will not establish family visits when even La Palma in AZ even has it.

You are welcome...from what I understand, every state has different contracts eventhough our love ones are all from California. It's sad and it sucks I know...

It simply doesnt make sense that non-trouble makers get sent out of state but people that consistently get write-ups remain in CA. And no offense to lifers but I think they should be the ones sent out of state.

For people that are staying out of trouble, they get screwed over by the system. They get transferred out of state, lose privileges (family visits, etc.). It's definitely hard for them to be motivated to stay out of trouble when it looks like the troublemakers have it better.

Not true. I recieved a family visit packet from Mississippi. The co over family visits is out. However you have to apply all over again to get the visit, first his counselor needs to give him an application then your husband turns it in to his counselor who then submits it to sacramento. We aren't getting our visit however becuase my husband tested dirty for thx, so they take away regular visit and then take contact visit so 180 days total.
