Default Are you bringing clothes for when he is released?

I just have a question? is anyone bringing a new set of clothes for your loved one to change into? new sneakers new outfit - earnings if they wear them?

im not sure if they are let out wearing what they came in wearing cause last time he was in only a week almost 2 they let him out in scrubs - & he had to pick up his clothes at the window.

You should call the facility to find out what he is allowed to have. You can either mail them to him no more 30 days in advance or bring them with you the day he is released. They are still subject to inspection even if you bring them the day he is released. If an inmate doesn't have any clothes, they are released in a dark blue shirt and khaki colored pants that may or may not fit. I've seen some small guys being released in clothes that were obviously many sizes too big for them.

I have been asking my husband did he want me to send or bring him something new. He keeps telling me he doesn't care what he wears out, he will just be ready to go... plus he said, he isnt da sure in the size he would wear now any way... I at least wanted to get him new shiesbut he is going to the halfway house when I pick him up and he said he isn't worried about shoes either at this point... he said, I just brought a new pair in here.. so I guess we will be waiting until he gets his first leave at thd halfway house and then go shopping for him... oh well, I really don't care what he wears out either, I'll just be happy he is out... he is worse than I am about clothes and shoes so I would have a hard time shopping for him without him anyway.. he has so much stuff at home anyway. I'll probably just bring something from here just in case. He has been gone a lil over a year so something here should work for the moment..

At FSP West, you can bring the clothes or mail them. They have to have pants (don't understand that one)! The ones who have no clothes leave in khaki pants and a white t shirt. I have been to 3 facilities and have seen people released and I said to my hubby that he was coming-out brand-new, attitude included.

I only live 10 minutes away so there's no point. I don't think you can take them anyway in NV. I have bought him all new clothes and will have them waiting for him in the closet when he gets home. He doesn't wear prison issue clothes anyway - I buy his clothes for him in there from the package program. But, he says when he leaves he will leave everything with people in there who don't have and wear prison blues issued out.
He's been there for 13 years so far (hopefully gets out next year) so I don't plan on him wearing much of anything for the 1st day or 2!!!!!

I wish I would be there when he walked out. I have no idea if he'll have no clothes or not.

It's alright. I'm about 10 hours away and I know his parents want to get him.
I will problay see him within 24 hours of him getting out, I hope. It would be
a hard ride with the kids.

OMG...just reading all of these posts I'll be so happy when he gets his turn! He's been down 4 yrs and has another 6 yrs to go. One more year and we'll be half way done with this road God has us on. I will make sure he is all new including attitude on life and sobriety! I'm SOOO happy for you all!

If I can be there - Yes. Unfortunately there is an ocean between us and it would be hard for me to get there.
