Default Difference between seeing parole and eligible for parole?

When your LO is set to see parole? What is the difference between seeing parole and eligible for parole?

PED = Parole Eligibility Date. This is the date they are actually "eligible" to be paroled.

Typically an offender will see the parole board 3 months prior to PED.

And parole is no guarantee. My husband has been parole eligible since 2006 and still is not paroled- right now he is technically incarcerated but in a halfway house. He has been there since September 1st. But he was in prison for 14 years and county for a year before.

My LO was regressed from a halfway house for falling behind on rent. $1000. He spent one month in county and by his parole hearing it will be six months in prison. He already knows they want to offer him hwh again, but he won't take it. The hwh is set up for failure, so he will just finish more time to get closer to his MRD to be paroled.

I've heard that many times. My stepson did fine, but others have said they suck. My husband said he does not want to go to a HWH because they still control everything you do. I would think it is better than prison but I'm not the one that has to live there.

My husband has an indeterminate sentence and parole was not releasing him, so this IS his only chance.
