My husband called again today and asking if I've heard anything. Lancaster is still not letting any major newspapers on the grounds by mail or with CO's. The rumor is that in July there will be some changes with the new budget. They will close 5 prisons and will be releasing alot of the inmates depending on what they are in for. That the feds are coming in to take over Lancaster because it is one of the prisons that have been getting alot of complaints in the past. I'm telling my husband that it is all rumors right now cause I haven't heard anything except the post on the 3-strike issue. Has anyone heard anything on this or is getting the same rumors? Thanks for your input.

I am going there Sunday and I will ask my husband if he has heard anything.. He probably will not know much, since they're always locked down.
I have heard rumors that they have the Feds undercover as inmates trying to bust the drug rings there. But that is all I have heard.

I am also going on Sunday, (yay!) but I cant get there till 8 am. Will I be able to get in at all, even if it's a long wait? Or will I be turned away? I called and they said I'm approved and he can get contact visits.

The visitor parking lot opens at 7:30 am and the car line will still be going on. You should be able to get processed and into visiting atleast by 9:30-10am. If you want to get processed quick, don't wear any white or beige or grey shirts of any kind. And don't wear a shirt that is short. If you can lift your arms up in the air and your stomach shows, they'll send you to the trailer to change. No flip flops either. Also, have your trunk cleaned out or atleast easy to be searched and have your trunk and glove box open when you first get to the guard gate. This will make things faster as well.

Good luck with your visit And you can PM me if you need more info.

I saw my husband today and on his yard, the guys have been receiving newspapers. Though, the newspapers that are sent to the prison threw the mail come 3 days late. And he hasn't heard any of the rumors. Though he wishes the Feds would take over the prison!! LOL

Also, there is going to be TB testing on Saturday Apirl 24th. There will not be any visiting on that day and visiting will resume on the Sunday Apirl 25th.
I will post this on the main page.

Well, girls, I actually had a GREAT visit at Lancaster on Sunday -- maybe because I was expecting the WORST!!! The COs pretty much left us alone, so it was sweet. Got there at 8:30 and was in by 10:30, not too bad. I also saw a sign saying no visits on the 24th.

Everyone is right about the vending machine stampede, geez... and my guy says the guards are terrible, constantly calling the inmates b**ch to try to get them to fight.

But it was my first contact visit, so for me it was heaven. Thanks for the encouragement y'all (somewhere in other threads )

Oh, also he hasn't gotten any mail at all since he's been there, so no newspapers either.
