Default Here we go....

Hello, my Husband was recently sentenced to 7.5 years currently at Red Rock Eloy. I will Probably be asking a lot of questions here and there as we are new to this. This forum has been my saving grace the past week or two, just knowing the different rules has been great to find out on here instead of driving to the prison, only to have to turn around. I am still waiting to be approved for visits. It has been 4 weeks today since I applied, Hopefully I will hear something soon. Have not talked to my husband in almost 2 months :/

We have a 2.5 year old and a 7 month old, so everything is new to me and kinda overwhelming.

Thank you ladies in advance
Have a wonderful day!

Expect it to take the entire 60 days to get approved for phones and visits.

Call Officer Myers in visitation to ask of you approved. They never tell you. They tell the inmate. When you call dpnt ask for visitation cuz its an endless loop recording.

One trick I found to see if you're approved without calling is to log on and see if you are eligible to send a securepak since you have to be approved to do so. Calling can be tricky.

If you haven't yet, check out the department order 911 that covers visitation. It will answer a lot of questions for you. https://corrections.az.gov/sites/def...e_04_07_16.pdf

If your man is on the new side then I'm sure I'll see you at visit! I'm usually the only one there with a little blonde girl so I'm easy to spot

I called RR Visitation this morning, my husband let me know that of the three applications I filled out they only received two, Spoke with Officer Meyers. She was so nice, caught me off guard LOL! She did confirm that they had only received two applications, she said she would look into for me over the weekend and to call back on Tuesday, as this weekend is a food visit and will be very busy. (Cant wait for a food visit w/ my hubby ) So hopefully we will see soon. I did try and submit another application for my Son, but they online system says they already have an application for him. Cant wait to just be approved, patience is def something I need to learn especially with the prison system.

Officer Meyers is very sweet! Glad you got in contact with them and I hope they figure the other application out. My mom applied for phone with my husband forever ago and I'm assuming it got lost. I'll have to remember to ask the next time I'm up there.

Patience is something. We're still waiting for food visits haha!

They food visit schedule for.next year should be coming out soon. It will be posted on the RR DOC website. Probably not til after the first of the year.

Once again, you can't count on the rules. At KINGMAN, my daughter took her baby last year and even though the rules say a sealed bottle of formula, she couldn't take in any liquid. She was using powdered formula, so she had to bring in an unopened container of powder, leave it out front with the guards at reception, and then use water from the fountain or faucet rather than pre-bottled sterilized water. My granddaughter was only 4 months old at the time and not the picky type or allergic type so it wasn't a problem using their water but for some babies it could be.

I had warned her that despite what the rules say I had seen them at reception state other things and saw another women with a baby where she couldn't take in the pre-made bottles. They also said only 1 bottle in visitation allowed so she couldn't take a juice bottle and a formula bottle at the same time.

Hopefully Red Rock/CCA is more consistent and if you call visitation they can tell you specifically and that the officers will follow through on what visitation tells you and not have a different interpretation. When my daughter went last year it wasn't busy. They allowed her to leave the sleeping baby with her uncle while she went out and got a bottle made and she didn't end up with any screaming, hungry baby situation.

They don't allow you to bring cans of formula into visit. I saw the situation a couple weeks ago. They did allow her to leave it at intake and go up there to make the bottles but said that's not how it was suppose to be done.

Not by any means saying I know the "right" way to do it, thankfully I never had that issue since our daughter was old enough to get through a 4 hour visit without eating and was breastfed so I wasn't even attempting that.

But really, it's going to depend on the prison, the day, who's working and what side of the bed they woke up on. Especially with some of the female co's at redrock, if you know policy and they are pushing you, ask for a lieutenant. Many ofus have had to many times.

You should call the facility your loves loved one is at and ask why he can't get one. As far as I know not all inmate can get them. I think it depends on their security level and whether or not the are in segregation or not. But if you call they will be able to tell you.

Have you applied, and been approved for visitation? You can't send securepak to anyone you're not approved to visit.

Sometimes if visitation entered your name spelled a certain way incorrectly secure pak will match that exactly in their records so if u r entering your name spelled correctly it will say you r not able to send one to him that was my prob bc I found out by calling secure pak that the prison had typed in my last name wrong entering an extra letter and I didn't know naturally so they told me to type in what the prison had put for my last name and poof I was able to send a package to him...

They will tell you that it can take up to 60 days. Two weeks is way too soon for an approval. It could happen sooner, but usually it will take close to 60 days.
