Default Missing from California Inmate Locator

At the request of a friend, I showed her how to use the California Inmate Locator to look up the name of a prisoner who was allegedly injured in a fight. We tried his CDC number and his last name. Neither one appears in the data base. She knows he was seen at the hospital after the fight but was hoping he had been released and was either back at his former prison or transferred. Does anyone know what this means? When someone disappears from the data base, does that necessarily mean he/she has died?

I don't have permission to disclose details. (Sensitive information due to all the incidents that have taken place recently).

Has she checked on the specific prison forum. There maybe something relevant as in inmate assault, lockdown etc. Just a thought.

When my friend was at a hospital, the locator said " Out to hospital" but did not disclose the location. No hospital will confirm if anyone from CDC is there.

Did you check on several days? The CDCR Inmate Locator last year had at least twice some weird hiccup where I couldn't find my loved one on there either, but it was back to normal in a few days.

Do you know anything about these protocols? Does Inmate Locator just omit them from the data base if they believe there may be a risk? (Just trying to make sure he is alive).
