Default Bill to eliminate JLWOP

Currently, there is legislation in Virginia that has already passed the Senate and is in the House. The bill will effectively abolish JLWOP in Virginia. The legislation, if passed, would allow juveniles who were sentenced to life in prison or who are serving lengthy prison sentences for crimes committed as a juvenile to apply for parole after serving 25 years.

Please write your state Delegate and express support for this legislation. Time is of the essence and you need to show your support now as the bill will likely be heard by the subcommittee on Monday, 13 February.
