He's not getting my messages, how much are Tablets?
My husband just got to Phoenix and I followed the info on the DOC website and sent him some messages but he’s not getting them. I assume they no longer print them? Any idea what the cost of a tablet is? I wish their website explained this better. Any information on Phoenix would be great! Thanks
I can't answer your question about Tablets, but it seems to me that if you can send a message the facility would / should see that he gets it I mean, they haven't stopped the service or you couldn't send a message at all. I hope you hear from him soon!
How long has it been since you sent them? It was normal to have a 1 to 2 day hold on some and we even went four days without them going through one time after two lock downs in a row.

If he is new to the system, he has to go through orientation and classification, which can be 2 weeks. A tablet cost about $150 and then he needs to purchase medialinks. If he doesn't have a tablet, he can read and reply via a kiosk.
Inmates can access their messages via their own tablet or by using the kiosk on their housing unit. If they select the latter, then they have to check the kiosk to see if they have messages waiting. They don't get alerted. They can reply if they have email credits on their account.
Inmates who can't have a tablet and have no access to a kiosk -- e.g., in the RHU -- get their messages printed and handed to them. they cannot reply electronically.
