If visit scheduled for early, the longer you can stay?
I have been told that earlier you schedule your visit the longer you can stay. Is that true? It seems to me like visits would all last about the same amount of time, so they can rotate new visitors in.
I'm not familiar with any Cali prisons, but in KY its going to depend on how crowded visitation is that day. Some times you get less time, sometimes you get more. Hopefully someone that visits in Cali will pop in and give us their experience.

Depends on how busy they are. In my case I am visiting my girl in CIW. They are busy but never full the whole time I have been, so we max out the whole day together. It ends somewhere around 2:40.. Supposed to be 3 but I see the CO's getting ancy...
So at CIW we got plenty of good time together. Now she is going to camp so I don't know what it will be like then.
I heard that mens prison is much different and could get crowded to a point they cycle people out. I don't know though.

agree with valliz.
Unless its a visit behind glass. Then I forget how long the visit is supposed to last.
I seem to recall its like 1 hr or so.
(could be wrong)
The few times I managed to get in for those, we seemed to generally stay a bit longer. Guess it depends on how they have to get the inmate from pt A to pt B

I visit in Cali prisons. Sometimes, they will ask if you want to double up at your table, which means you can stay the whole time. If you are the first in, they may ask you to leave early, unless you come a long way or haven't visited in a while. For behind the glass visits, it's about 2 hours.. Can be all day if they have lost privileges. If they are Ad Seg, it's 2 hours.
