Lot of petty rules in Springfield. But the best place to do time.

My son is in Springfield at MDSP,for eight years. He says food is not good. You can order one care pack from caringpacks.com and they will distribute it to the inmate monthly. Some months,as in June ,they were allowed two. They cost $20.00 each. Consists of foods, snacks etc. One is a special one for holidays and one pack is strictly stationary.Fans are $31.00 and much needed by an inmate as the heat is terrible.Envelopes are a dollar each as is stamps. A phone account can be set up for $25.00. Good for about eight calls.

caringpacks.com Good to see the prison is finally getting into the 21st century.

Are the envelopes prestamped for $1? Most retailers don't arrange to profit on the sale of US postage, so the stamps themselves shouldn't cost $1.

*there are exceptions, but it is for collectible stamps not active postage.

They can't make a profit on reselling stamps. But they can make a profit on the envelope. Which they just put a stamp on.

That's what I meant. The previous post implied that the charge was $1 for an envelope and $1 for a stamp.
