Question Ex felon Housing in MN?

Hello...I have a friend who is in need of an apartment ASAP. He has to leave his current apartment, (alot of improvements are needed in that place and they are not being taken care of and he has brought it to the attention of lanlord, nothing is being done and he doesn't want any conflict,) but he does not know of any felon friendly rentals in MN. I did some research and keep reading that "alot of places won't do background checks unless it is a really expensive place," but, that is not really helpful. He works in Roseville and is working now, that is why I am on here for him. Any help please?

Around here we get the daily "big city" paper, but we also get a small twice a week local paper as well. In that paper are usually listings of reasonable (and local) houses/apartments for rent. If he can find something for rent by an individual rather than a company, they probably will not do a background check and will be more willing to listen/give him a chance. Good luck!! Welcome to PTO

Default taking matters into my own hands

My fiance was picked up back in december on a parole violation and won't be allowed to move back in with me for the time being since he's on ISR. He was supposed to be released on April 20th, but is still in because there is no room at the halfway house. So frustrated with the whole thing...

So basically I'm looking into purchasing a 3 bedroom house in my neighborhood to rent to him and a couple others...just waiting to hear on if they accept my offer.

The quality of the places he's told me about leave a lot to be desired, so i took matters into my own hands. Thankfully I'm lucky enough to be able to do that...and maybe help a few others.
