Default Is there anyone in Alaska on these boards?

Seriously....anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

It's a very lonely section of this forum and I would really like to get to know some folks with people in AK or in AK itself as I may have to move there eventually.

So if you are out there...please stop by for a hello and a howdy =)

I'm not in Alaska, but I do have to say that I've noticed all your postings here & appreciate your diligence in keeping the Alaska forum aware of current issues. Your continued postings, hopefully, will attract others from your region. Don't give up

Well, I live in IL now but we were stationed at Ft Greely from 1986-1988. Loved the interior - so beautiful.

lol thanks to you both! Sometimes I feel like I'm reaching out to the moon, instead of Alaska, but I will not give up and hopefully someone somewhere is benefiting from the information I post =)

If you scroll allll the way to bottom the forum index page, there is a list of who's online, how many members & how many "guests." The guests always out number the members....right this minute: (58 members and 1876 guests)

Those "guests" are reading and learning. What you are doing does make a difference.

Thank You.

Oh AKStafford, you I remember. I think you and I are just about the only ones making a peep on this part of the board regularly, but that's okay. Hope all is well. I hear you are making great progress with the men at GCCC. Thank you for your good works. I am sure they appreciate it. =)

I'm a wanna-be-Alaskan (and wanna-be-Texan), so do I count? I sometimes read Alaska forums, as I have this idea on the back of my mind that one day I might be living and working there. If they just let my husband parole there, we would like to live there, possibly.

Well then you are like me Sunflow because I live in Arizona but more than likely will eventually be moving to Alaska and am doing all I can to learn and navigate my way around the State. I am kicking around the idea of spending part of the year there and part of the year in Arizona so that I can keep my employment in place. =)

Hi, I have a new pen pal in Palmer. Alaska is very beautiful but I do not like the cold. The TV shows about Alaska are fascinating.

Hello Lini. Nice to meet you. I've only been to Alaska one time as my husband was housed out of State for many years, and I went in May. I am such a whimp that the 55 degree weather was cold for me, but hey I've been living in the Desert the last 15 years! I did find parts of Alaska to be very beautiful, the little bit that I did see outside of the prison visiting room. I look forward to seeing more in the future. Any plans to visit Alaska in the future?

I bet New Zealand is equally as beautiful!

I have just this year returned to NZ after living in very warm Australia for ten years. Returned to spend time with my family and put down roots. So no plans at this time to visit Alaska (such a distance to travel).

Oh Australia must have been lovely as well. I understand about distance. To me Alaska is like being on the Moon lol I can only imagine how far it feels from New Zealand.

Lol! We call it summer over here in Finland Ok, our summer is usually a bit warmer, but 55 degree weather is a perfect sping/autumn weather. That's when you don't need quilted jacket, hat and mittens anymore.

I've been dreaming about working as a nurse in some rural area in Alaska. I'm a weirdo, I know.

I have to admit to being a little bit in love with Alaska although I have never been. I watch all the programs about Alaska on the discovery channel and I am stunned by the beauty of the place. I am kind of hoping to visit one day and enjoy the landscapes for real.
