I've never heard the term "red date," it might be a Tennessee specific term .....so I've moved your thread to the Tennessee forum

RED = Release Eligibility Date - means when I/m is eligible for release, barring any detainers.

PED = Parole Eligibility Date - means when I/m is eligible for parole, barring any other issues..

Both of these dates change every month when credits (aka good time) is added, errr subtracted from their dates on 'FOIL'. UNLESS they have a Life, Life with sentence then only the PED date changes for those with a WITH sentence.

Hope that helps you understand this mess better...

I am assuming your loved one is in TDOC custody. You can find their custody information at TN state website using the FOIL link on their correction page. You can also google FOIL and go from their, I believe.

Yes he is and I check foil all time all all it has on there is sentence begin n end date and PED date
