Does the name on the visit list have to match name on the phone bill?
I have a question and I can't seem to find tge answer. My daughter got a landline phone on in her name at our house. She is on my husband's visiting list. I was told that the name is suppose to match what's on the bill to what's on the i.d. it does. We registered the phone online, but someone said she has to have a Texas i.d. is this true?
Unless things have changed, you do not need to be on a visiting list to register a phone. What HAS to match is the name of the registrant and the name on the billing statement. I'm not sure what the current approval process is on landlines...but those CAN be registered online as opposed to calling in and doing the three-way call with a provider like with cell phones.
I could be wrong but I don't think it has to be a Texas ID. Plenty of offenders call home in various states other than the state they are incarcerated in.
As long as the address on the ID and the address for the bill and the name on the bill all match, then the registration should reasonably be approved...
That being said, if this was a permanent move in October, then she SHOULD have Texas ID. You have 30 days under Texas statute to get a Texas ID/DL.
