I sent you an email...they had flyers put up about family day (you had to sign up & bring your kids) and they watch movies, read books, can sit next to each other hold hands, etc. I never knew they did that kinda stuff in Max but they did which is definitely a positive thing but I'm assuming something must have happened maybe someone took advantage of the situation? My hubby said they did have family day and when I called Saturday to check the message it said sorry no visiting due to an institution concern??!

I received a letter today. Two incidents that sound completely minor. Two old guys got into a fight. They made everyone stay in the dirt for an hour (maybe more) then an inmate and a guard got into a scuffle, but nothing serious. Sounds like this may be the worst USP in the system for messing with visits.

I write to several guys within the Fed system and I personally think the worst facility for LD's is USP Big Sandy....that place is atrocious for locking down at the drop of a hat.

As for USP Coleman II, I got an email from the guy I write there earlier this week and he was saying that he got told the kiosk was going to be shut down...this was from Monday I believe (I'm on a different timezone and not sure whether the time stamp is my time or his!)

"they said that email will be down tmmrw morning until 12 pm my time. .....but sometimes when they do system updates it goes down for longer than they say it will , just lettin you know"

But I haven't heard from him since, and he's an 'emailer' lol I hope to get a call from him soon to let me know. I know his friend messaged me and asked if I knew if he was on LD or not...so it's unusual for him not to be in contact with either of us, so they may well still be on Lock

Hope they lift it soon...it's too quiet without 20 emails a day to answer!

Hugs
Naomi

My Mwi is at Coleman 1 but his old roommate from Canaan was sent to Big Sandy. He says it is horrible and they stay on lockdown. Prayers for all of them.

Has anyone heard anything about the LD being lifted at USP Coleman II yet please? It's been over a week now and obviously being that mail takes 2 weeks each way, I've not had word yet to know if my friend is safe....it must be a big one, coz I've never know Coleman to be locked down this long.

Hope everyone's LO's are safe.

Hugs
Naomi

If Big Sandy is worse than Coleman I, then you are correct...it is the worst. They just got off LD Tuesday, and I got an email tonight another LD was happening as he was writing the email. Crazy.

I have heard from my boo who is at Coleman 2 and he said southside refused a move, inmate got stabbed, and inmates refused to move to their cells. He said they are searching every inch of the prison so he said hopefully by next week theyll be off but they are going rrally slow so it could be longer.

Lockdown due to influenza outbreak. My Mwi was sick last week and it triggered his asthma. Hope all is well.

Flu shots are available in the bop, but you have to ask for one each year. The problem (in the years when the shot is actually working) is that very few inmates bother to get them, so the flu is always circulating through each prison. I got the shot every time, and then hoped it actually helped me.

It's difficult to quantify why, but I did avoid the Flu.

The day before LD, they threatened to LD if anyone else went to medical. A couple guys went the next day, so locked down. Now nobody can go to sick due to LD. Makes no sense that they LD so people can't get treatment when they're sick. Seems like that would be a violation to be punished for being sick.
