OK....so I sent him 3 books from Barnes and Noble 1 a Bible 2 a book called Tatoos on the Heart written by a priest Greg Boyle and 3 a book about redemption of a gang member ( can't think of the name) the Bible made it through but the other 2 were refused. This is the second time I've tried to send these books! Refused both times!!!I'm so mad cuz it costs me money for shipping and restocking fees. Also marrybelle I read what you wrote on another thread about being polite and changing as many times as they ask so you can spend time with your LO....very smart advice. I go to visit maybe every other week or so and except having to change each time I've not had any other problems. Best to you and yours....

@Hurley123- both of those books discuss gang life, even it itís a ďpast lifeĒ for the authors. That is the reason they are not allowed.

Awwww thank u!! I just feel that I can have them ruin my visit with my husband or I can make the best out of it.....it's MY CHOICE! now regarding the books they dont let any books that are gang relate, tattoo relate or sex relate so if those subject is on the title they will just refuse it Also try ABEBooks online next time they sell use books for the fraction of the price of a new one and the inmates dont care if they are new or use ...Have a good day Hurley

The books are about getting OUT of that lifestyle. My guy has given up so much of his life....it's tragic!

Iíve always found the best deals just going to the website for the magazine itself (people, tattoo, menís health, etc). If you just want one or two magazines thereís inmatemags.com

Awww Hurley its not even worth getting angry over it! just find similar book for him that doesnt have any words on the title that is gang related. If you google the book that u had sent it will suggest similar books. But I get you! like my husband wud say....its their home & their rules! so we got to pick our fights sometimes! Have a great day!

I have sent my LO books before while he was in the SHU at another federal prison but I didn't use Amazon and he got the books that I sent him. I used a company called Hamilton Book

The books are very cheap in price and shipping is cheap as well. They are a book seller and all shipments are made via U.S. Postal Service. Delivery is normally within 3 to 15 days and they normally ship within 48 hours. If an item is temporarily out of stock, a second shipment will be made, normally in 14 days, but in no case later than 60 days. They will ship all available items immediately. If any item is temporarily out of stock, they will make a second shipment as soon as possible. They do not charge extra to make a second shipment and do not hold the shipment of available items if one item is temporarily out of stock.

They do ship to federal prisons. I asked them before I ordered books to be sent to him. If I'm not mistaken, I think they do provide you with a tracking number when the books ships but I'm not sure. If you have any questions about the website, let me know and I'll be glad to answer them

INMATE NAME & REGISTER NUMBER
USP VICTORVILLE
U.S. PENITENTIARY
P.O. BOX 3900
ADELANTO, CA 92301

Nothing except books can be sent to federal inmates although they do get an extra $50.00 commissary spending limit in Nov. & Dec. Not the money, just the ability to spend more.

He can go to the mailroom during their open house hours and ask why the books were rejected.
