Default How long does it take to be sent up to Reception

Hi Everyone,

My son was sentenced on 4/3 TO prison and is still at county jail. It is going on 42 days and we can't seem to find out what the hold up is. Other guys in with him have been sentenced and are being sent within 2 weeks. But he is still displaying an SP code with no number (heard that 3 means paperwork is handled and 4 is imminent to be sent).

Who do I contact about this? The Sherrif at NCCF said there are no pending actions.

Thanks for your help.

Im not sure Halo.........
I know my hub left fairly early........but not if ya know what I mean.
they look for a bed in a place where his points match.....his needs match.......(or their needs match)
I think my hub was like 3 weeks? (sorry cant remember now)
Guessing likely he will be going soon. As soon as they have room for him in a facility, with whatever his needs are.

Try to enjoy and get as many visits in now as you can/want.
Cause its radio silence for a bit after they get to reception.
Letters only and those take *forever* it seems.

It can vary. Some get sent to CDCR same day, others longer depending on threat assessment, available beds, available transportation etc. My niece sat at Lerdo Pre-Trial in Kern County for two weeks after her conviction before getting shipped off to CCWF.

Just in case anyone else is looking for the data, apparently when a gun is involved, the Court has to fill out a special report and it takes a while to prepare it, so that is what the holdup was on my son's being moved from LA County jail to State Prison. The GOOD NEWS (if you can call it that, because how it can it ever be good when your kid is going to State Prison) is that his status finally changed to SP3 (I think this means that all paperwork is now handled), so it won't be long now before he is sent up to Reception. Thanks for all of your answers though!
