Default Visiting at Coyote Ridge Questions

I'm planning a trip to visit at coyote ridge and I was wondering if anyone has been to a visit lately at this prison, as I have a few questions and was hopeing someone could answer them for me or give me the latest info on visiting there? I know that when I visited at Monroe we were able to where our coats and hoodies. Does anyone know if we are able to where them at Coyote? Also, are we able to where layers? Are they very picky with the dress code? How is it inside at the visit? Is the food any good in the vending machines and how is the staff? I'm visiting MSU. I know about the debit cards for the vending machines. I've used them before at Monroe. Any other useful information would be greatly apreciated! Thank You in advance for the Info !

I was just up there in august with my mother and service dog. they are pretty slow and its best to get into line EARLY!!!! the lines are long and even though me and my mother got there about 15 mins prior we were still number 34. they have two size lockers so you can put your sstuff in there but i suggest a light sweater or soemthing or even a heavier long sleeve shirt it gets cold in thier. the run the AC all the time. they are pretty nice and answer all your questions. just take your number wait to be called get the quarter for the locker put your stuff away get checked in and searched. they do keep track of how many times they send you back i heard if your not dressed right. so far this is the only place that allows flip flops. im not sure if you want to wear coats or hoddies because you walk a short walk outside and into visiting and other than that you are inside but thats it. i really cannot talk about the food my brother is muslim and the visit was during ramadan so we did not get any food. you have to get a new debit card for the machines because ones from other places will not work. we found out when we were there. the staff is pretty cool i think they got a kick out of searching my service dogs gear though. they assign a table as to where to sit and when you get in your inmate is there already. they asked me in advance so i got to pick a location for our table. out of the main walk way away from the machines and childrens area but i think thats because we had a service dog with us. main thing go in get your number and sit down wait to be called then do everything else. thats the rules. lol. I am going back up on the 16th of october so i can say more about the food then. message me if you have any questions.

I'm curious about how early people get in line....at the county jail I used to wait for an hour and a half to two hours, but on the DOC website it says you can get there 10 or 15 minutes early ( I can't remember which). Is that rule strict, or can we line up early?? I have a 4 year old, so I'd like to avoid waiting in line as much as I have control over that, ya know?

Oh-Another question: How strict is the dress code, can anyone give me detailed info on this??? I visited someone at Walla Walla about 9 years ago, and they sent me back to change 4 times...I used up all the clothes I had packed...and the only thing they were happy with was an oversized mens tshirt I had to go buy at goodwill!!!!! I was swimming in the stupid thing! I'm not concerned about short skirts or low cut shirts, cuz I know I have acceptable options there, but my concern is the definition of "tight"--which seemed to be the problem at walla walla. I don't have a little perfect body, so I don't really wear TIGHT things, but I my clothes are definatly fitted, as baggy clothes make me look bigger ;( Also, can we wear camisoles under our shirts? Or hoods?

I just wore a t shirts and sweat pants well yoga type pants the baggy type. you can only get on property 15 min early people lline up almost an hour early outside of the gate on the public road and wait for the gaurd to come open it

they were pretty decent at coyote just low cut and way to tight pants seemd to be an issue when i was thier i wore a regular sized shirt my size i am a little top heavy to my t shirts are always tight over my chest but that was not a problem because i was not showing clevage. its pretty much use your common sense up there. if you have your check covered and not skin tight like if you move one will pop out you should be ok and as long as you can move good in your pants and it does not look like you were poured into them with camel toe and crack showing you should be ok waiting in line there is no option unless you show up about an hour and a half after visiting starts when the line is cleared and you can walk in get proccessed through and only wait until your inmate is in the room to be let it.

hmmm...see- thats what is annoying: The whole "tight" clothes is so vague...I guess I won't know til I get there. I just bought a cute new pair of jeans today, but they're very stretchy, so they're pretty tight in the butt/legs, but they stretch so well, they are so comfy. I guess I'll just wear an outfit, pack a safer/cute one, and also pack the "I'll wear this if I have to" one that I know will get in My theory is that if you only have one piece of clothing that I'm questioning...they'll be less apt to be picky. Thats how it seems at the jail: If you're wearing tight pants AND a low cut top they'll stop you, but you could wear the same jeans with a cute sweater and they'll be fine with it. I've also noticed that the more makeup and flashy jewelry you wear--it makes them pay more attention to the whole outfit...I'll just wear a nice top and low key makeup and jewelry and hopefully my pants won't be picked on Does anyone know the policy on having to go change? At what point in the process do they look at your clothes and do they make you get back at the end of the line after changing? Probably....

So it looks like my guy is still at Shelton, so no visiting this weekend Next weekend I can't go, so hopefully the weekend after that...thats when they're having the fall family event...

on the whole idea of just hoping it will go though is a good idea at most places but from what i seen here they count the number of times they send you back its like on your file or something. they told one girl this is the third time we have had to send you back and yada yada there might be consequences after x amount of times of being sent back for clothes. plus its cold in there so kind of tight might not be the way to go, my brother is muslim so i have to cover up when i go see him and i was still cold so it does get pretty cold but its just better to be safe and if you think a piece of clothing is iffy try something else its just not worth them tacking a mark on your name because of it and risking some stupid consequence. im glad i dont have that issue my brother wants me in loos pants or long skirts and long sleeve shirts and makes me wear a hijab so they really cannot cite me on anything so thats good but better safe than sorry besides its cold! i had to my my service dog on my lap because the floor was so cold he started to shiver.

So...I went last Saturday and again Monday. I stayed for both sessions each day...which was boring cuz we just sat in the car in line outside the gate for the 2 hours...but it was worth it!!!! I had no problems with my clothes. Saturday, they gave me a warning cuz I had a lace tank on under my shirt, but they were nice about it and didn't make me change since I had never been there before. The staff are nice--they joke around with my 4 year old, which makes him feel comfortable there. All in all, it was a good trip and I'm going back for the fall family event!!! We'll be decorating pumpkins!!! More later.........

Hi, I was wondering How visitation is compare to AHCC. My man is getting transferred to Coyote Ridge in a couple of months from AHCC. I was just wondering what's different about the visitation is from AHCC. Are the visiting rules the same?

I never visited at AHCC but my mom has and I've visited it at CRCC. Watching my mom go in was so easy, they didn't care she didn't have a bra on (although I did... geeze mom!), they didn't trip on her dress code at all! I don't know if it was cuz she was a mom or what. When I went to Coyote Ridge, I had to drive an extra 30 minutes away to buy socks because the top half of my foot might turn the inmate on and cause problems. They are soo strict about dress code, layers, zippers, jewelry, etc. I even had to prove to them I was wearing a bra (odd b/c you could totally tell... yet my mom got away without wearing one! WTF?). They were so strict I don't really remember everything though because I visited over a year ago.

Just know if you plan on staying down there in a motel there are only two, and one is REALLY nasty ( I wish I remembered the names) There is 1 restaurant but Othello is pretty close if you need anything.

Thank you Kelika718. I have never visited anyone at CRCC, so far only my man at AHCC. I have been to Connell a couple of times, but that was because I was dropping of my sons dad to work at the prison when they were i think adding on to the prison

My son has been out for 9 months now but when we visited at Coyote it was so much better than at Airway. They do follow the dress code, but the atmoshere and how we were treated was so much better!

I have visited several times at Coyote Ridge between about June and September 2011. These were my first and only visiting experiences at Washington state prisons. My experiences were pretty good. The food in the vending machines was expensive, and nothing that was healthy until the last visit or so when they put in a few salads - but it was so cold they were frozen! Yuck! The food goes fast, so it's a good idea to load up on what you'll probably need for your whole visit, and then microwave it as needed.
I have a question of former visitors there. I don't know how ago she started working there, but there was a fairly attractive female officer on every visiting day I was there. She was very friendly - overly so. I found here hovering around our table often, and every time I left to buy or microwave food, use the restroom, etc., she was over talking to my guy. He was not encouraging her. His brother visited him a couple of times, and he reports the same thing. On one or both of their visits, they were joking about cell phones (the brother didn't know they weren't allowed, and was joking about how at least he could get a picture of them together if he had his cell phone - the printer was broken at the time so no pictures were available). Shortly after that, this same female officer showed up in my guy's unit, started flirting with him, and then accused him of trying to get her to bring him in a cell phone! I am wondering if anyone else had a problem with her flirting or hovering around while you were visiting? I understand she isn't in the visiting room anymore. This is very important to me, because he got in serious trouble because of her.

They have a bunch of new people there. So I don't think she is there. But it all depends on what you think is "fairly attractive" is.
