Post Welcome to the California Fire Camp Forum

I'm sure many of you will be happy to see that we are finally able to open up a new forum dedicated just for those who have loved ones in California Fire Camps, or are seeking more information and support relating to them.

The fires are blazing in California, so I am sure your loved ones are probably hard at work keeping people and their property safe...

I'm working on moving over as many Fire Camp related threads into this forum. If I miss any, let me or another Cali staff member know in a day or two and we'll get them moved in here.

Welcome to PTO and to the fire camp forum. The gals here are a great bunch of people and we are all very supportive of each other. Right now all of us are going thru what you are going thru cause with all the fires out there in CA all of our guys are out there, but mose of us do not know which fire they are at cause they do not have time to tell us and when you call they will not give you that info. Check out the rest of the threads here and join in on our talks all are welcome. If you ever need support just come here we are always around.

Alora you know we are hear for you honey. We are all here to keep each others spirts up. Just ask Tammy I actually called her last night crying, but she was great and got me laughing by the time we got off the phone (even if she did forget to call me back JK) Well just think you do not have much longer until the 21 days are up and he will be back in camp and you can talk to him again. I wish I could say the same thing but my guy just left camp on Monday so I know it is going to be awhile before we talk.

Oh yea love that we have our own forum now but now we have to keep up on lots of threads and not just one that we can talk to each other in. LOL

Default Hey! They gave you guys your own Forum!

I'm so happy for you! I was a bit confused too. I Thought all there was was a thread, lat year when I was on here everyday. Then I showed up a few days ago, thought, aha, I was right. And now today, everything has changed!

Anyway, I am remembering all of you with fondness! My husband has been home since October, 2007, no problems, parole has been fine, although we expected the worst. He's working as a waiter and going to school. All is well.

Love, Terrie...

My son is at Delta. Its in Suisun City, Solano County. This is his 3rd summer in a firecamp and the 4th camp he has been in. Doesnt sound like anyone will be at the camp much this summer, visiting or otherwise. When he was at Antelope we didnt visit much in the Winter because of the snow and not much in the summer because of the fires!

Yes it does sound like it is going to be a summer with little time for visits. Well at least I do not need to try to win the lottery now since it would be a waste of time to go out there to visit. LOL I guess I can wait three months to see him when I pick him up.
