Of course it does but no one is better than the other...I just don't believe crimes nor time should be compared. It upsets me that ppl actually think anyone deserves these severe sentences. Ive read about malicious murders getting less time but who am I to judge God's plans

If you're shocked at the harsh sentencing, I strongly suggest you read the book The New Jim Crow. It'll open your eyes to how our nation's leaders and legislators are using this so-called "war on drugs" to bring about mass incarceration of people of color.

Well, my fiance is not a person of color, so that wouldn't really apply.

I don't agree that crimes can't or shouldn't be compared. I certainly don't think any crime is "no big deal," but I don't see how you can avoid saying that smoking a joint is not as bad as killing someone. This doesn't mean that the person who killed someone is an evil person or undeserving of any love or compassion, but come on.....of course you can compare. And the same goes for comparing time. I think my fiance deserved a long sentence because he was too stupid and selfish to learn his lesson the first 2 times he got arrested, but I don't think he deserves to spend his entire adult life in prison for being a drug addict when murderers are getting minimal time. Finally, I don't mistake any of this for being anyone's plan except ours as a society.

My love was convicted of 2nd degree murder & felony murder. Him and another guy broke in a house to rob it, didnt expect anyone to be home and there was. The person was shot to death...my man claims he wasn't the shooter...only 3 people know the truth. It was a cold case when he was picked up. He got 15 yrs, been down 3, we been together a yr and a half, knew each other for 5 before he went in. 12 to go...It's very hard & for now, I cant promise to stick around for the next 12...BUT, I take one day at a time cuz if I try to do more, it starts to feel overwhelming....Today I love him and Im here....

My fiance is service a 30 year sentence for aggravated robbery in Texas. His eligible parole is 2023, and release date is 2038. doesn't seem fair huh?

My husband was caught with a gun on parole...sentenced 12-Life....seems a bit much when there were no bullets in the gun, bodies or crimes on the gun! Just his dumb ass with an unloaded gun on parole!

My man has three counts aggravated murder. He's lwop with two life sentences. He'll never be home so I make the best of the time we have and keep him involved. I can only visit every other week as I live in Washington and he's in Oregon. But we still enjoy every moment together!
