Facing a legislative committee short on patience and demanding answers, state prison officials offered few details Tuesday on why they have been unable to stop the flow of smuggled cell phones onto Texas' death row. I understand what you are saying Drue. I would not want my child searched, but if I am dishonest enough to try to smuggle something in to an inmate, I would use what ever means available (child, grandmother, etc.)

When I visit my husband at Bradshaw, they surprisingly (but it's great that they do have) a walk-thru metal detector at the entrance. Just like at the airport, they make you take out all metal things, take off shoes, take off coats, etc. They even made my infant son take off his shoes and go thru the metal detector as well (it was funny looking - I had to "dangle" him thru the metal detector first so we went thru one at a time). Then they pat you down.
