Ugh...you guys are making me feel more guilty! LOL

A few years back I did a program where you walk at home. You pop in the DVD and walk in front of the tv. There are all kinds of DVD's by this lady and I think she has a free one online somewhere. Her name is Leslie Sansone. I started with a 1 mile walk and quit walking for various reasons right after I purchased her 5 mile walk.

I lost 70 pounds in about 6 months from doing the walking, and keeping an eye on what I ate.

I need to get back to it, I have put on 20 pounds since my love has been away these 16 months and I also don't want to have to go back on diabetes meds.

One of the best things I liked about this lady is she has her other folks on with her and there is always a few who are doing modified versions. She incorporates various arm and leg movements in each walk so you get an all over tone and the folks who are not superfit that she has on there show you how to modify the movements so they are less strenuous if that is where you are at.

Sometimes I find the tapes/DVD's at the thrift store as well.

Ok..I get to see him in about 45 days, wonder if I can drop a few of these pounds before that first kiss and hug we will have since December '11?

So last night I did yoga ( I just started it after my foot got injured), I used to think I was to macho for yoga but let me tell you its definitely hard and I can feel the workout, it actually helps my back by building my core....

I have 13 days before surgery so I am gonna try to kick ass till then, today I did chest and triceps and tonight and doing zumba.....

I have one more week of working out before my surgery ( on my foot), I have added yoga to my mix ( weightlifting, zumba had to stop running till foot is fixed).... I think the yoga is really helping my back problems ( I get epidurals), I rarely have any pain at all.

I do miss running but I am starting to like the zumba for cardio, the last 2 weeks I have been doing weights in the morning ( for an hour) then either a zumba or yoga class in the evenings.......I am guessing I will be off from working out for a couple weeks... once I can get around I should be able to still do upper body till the foot is healed

Hey ladies. I'm back. I've been so busy with work lately but I've still managed to wake up every morning to workout out. I'm in my second month of Insanity. I love it. I'm doing more then I ever thought I could do. I'm getting stronger every day.
We are doing The Biggest loser at my job and I lost another five pounds so that puts me at 65 pounds lost. Very happy about that.

Keep up the good work everyone.

Hey Ladies,

I have been working out to hip hop abs and yoga stretching just starting out. I am excited I changed my eating plan no fried foods or soda. Gave all of the yummy sweets in October. My lil sis is on her workout at Bally's with the work out classes. Lets reach our goals for better health!

Hey all! I'm trying to lose at least 40 lbs. I had a gym membership and I found it a waste of money and it was too easy to make excuses not to go. I've been instead, riding my bike, doing squats and other easy at home exercises. Etc. I already don't drink soda and limit eating out (too broke anyway) any tips on jumpstarting this weight loss?

So happy I found this thread! I am on a total grind! I got my gym membership and have been working with a personal trainer to achieve the results I want. I only want to lose about 10lbs, my main goal is to tone. So that is what my program will do. My best friend and I are both going to the same gym so we are each others motivation to go. Tomorrow begins my weekly routine and I can't wait! I am really excited and can't wait to see the results!!

Here's to being healthy and getting beach ready!!!

keithsgrl I got full clearance yesterday to start running again..... 3 weeks of healing is pretty fast.. so I am back to doing doubles in the gym and running after my weight workouts..... I have NO MORE PAIN AT ALL IN MY FOOT the surgery really made a difference

I added yoga, zumba and boot camp workouts to my weights and running... I always thought I was to macho for yoga but damn its hard and you feel it.. I am so happy I can go running again I really missed it but it got so painful before the surgery that I had to cut back so now I am gonna go full force

keithsgrl that is me in the picture, I was a competitive power lifter, and I have been lifting weights since I was in my 20's so yea I did feel that way about yoga and boy I was wrong ... I will say my genetics make me small... but I am mighty lol

Some days I don't know what I am thinking, I did my legs today with weights, ran 3 miles after the weights then I did this power pump class ( never took it before) and guess what it was MORE WEIGHTS AND THEY WERE DOING LEGS.. omg I am so freaking sore today.... I think I am gonna stick to the zumba and yoga after I lift.. that was way to much weights for one day

Today I did Insanity and arms. I will run 7 miles tonight. I am running a 5k on Saturday and another on Monday. I have been running for 20 years. I started outside. Then moved to a treadmill at the gym. I quit for a while. Then started again at the gym. then, bought a treadmill but then stopped again and started again. 5 months ago, i decided to run farther. i ran my first 5k about 3 months ago. i have won 1 trophy and 5 medals. my fastest time is a 24.13. i need to run more outside. last weekend, i ran a 5k and we had to run up a hill. i was not prepared since i am a treadmill runner and never use the incline. it was rough but i still managed to win my age group.

i am like that too. the over achiever!!!!!!! i work out hard.. there is no half a** to it. you either want to do it or you don't ... i want it bad.... i love my body and will never let it get out of shape again..

wow that's pretty bad ass... good luck on the 5k's.....I was running 5-7 miles before I had my surgery on my foot I am up to 4 now.. but on the treadmill, outside running is definitely more challenging then the tread mill

good luck let me know how it goes

I did boot camp today, tomorrow I do back, biceps, a run and a yoga class....I think its good that we mix it up cuz we get our muscles at every angle.. I am 50 years old in the best shape of my life I could still kick my boys asses if I needed to
