Hello sweet t and welcome to PTO. My husband was in reception for about 3 months before he was mainlined. Once your fiance see's his counselor he will be the one to let you know where he will be going. When my husband seen his counselor he was told that he would either go to a CCF or to Folsom and he was sent to Folsom. I'm sure it wont be much longer and he will be writing you a letter to where he maybe going too. PTO is amazing and has helped me out with any info I've ever needed. Hang in there and best of luck to you & your family.

Welcome to PTO! Sylmargirl2 is correct once he sees his counselor then he'll be able to give you an idea where he might be going. There are a lot of supportive people here and tons of information.

if he doesn't have a long sentence he might even stay in reception. I'd pray for that.

Mine has been in reception for 3 months, he gets out in sept, 2008. He is told that he is going to McFarland or Mesa Verde, but will probably end up in Folsom like everybody else, even farther away.

I will tell you my man just did 6 months in reception and never mainlined, his counselor even told him he was endorced to another prison but that never happended either, so it's a big waiting game because even the counselors dont know half the time just because they endorce them someplace doesnt mean that is for sure were they are going

What they are saying is that he was still in reception when his release date came up. He never mainlined. This is because the process is so long. My hubby has to do 8 months and he only has 3 months left and he's still in reception, he has not seen his counselor and has not yet been given a level. So come Jan if he's still in reception, he will not mainline he will stay in reception until his release date.

Yes my hubbys counselor says he he has less than a month then they will not mainline them, they will do their time in reception. But with CDC you never know what they are going to do. They do what ever they want.

Mainline is once they have seen their counselor and been given a level and have been placed in there new "home" for them to complete their time.

I think that to us, the major difference is the visits and the phones! In most cases, mainlined inmates get phone priveleges and much longer visits that are contact visits. No damn glass!
