Default Letters of Support for Parole Board

Has anyone ever wrote letters on behalf of someone for their Parole Board hearing? I am looking for samples so I know what should or shouldn't be wrote. I do not want to get too emotional as I am sure they don't want to hear that, but would like to know what they do want to hear! Any help is appreciated with this!

Thank you!

I have a friend who will see the board very soon, and I am in the same process as you. From what I understand, what the board wants is to know that the inmate will have a support system upon release that will be present to help prevent recidivism. A stable place to live, a job or job prospect to return to, someone willing to help implement his transition plan. Of course, nothing is a guarantee, but I think that is the gist of it. You're right - emotion probably won't dazzle them much, so straight facts about support and a plan are where it's at.

Good luck!

I wrote a letter - That was facts and to the point. I kept it under a page long, so it didn't bore them, but it probably wont do much help.

At the most basic level- what is different NOW compared to when they committed the offense(s) that resulted in the incarceration. What steps have been put into place that help to ensure there is no return to injurious behaviors and criminality.

What would YOU want to see from someone if YOU were voting on them for a release and were not emotionally invested in the matter?
