They have this Here in asheville as well. Its called "jailbirds" lol I admit I look through it while in line at the store but I don't care enough to purchase one. Indeed mugshots are embarrassing but its all part of the consequence of the crime.

The Public Records Act states that no site (unless security cleared I.e. your local DOC) shall have a legal right to make public any persons personal info involving name, address, dob, charges and ect.

Mines not on there. It seems to me that this site is more for "entertainment" most of the mugshots are of bizarre looking people so I wouldn't be too much worried about it. You could get this same info from the local paper or DOC site no matter where you are.

My LO is not on tbis website, but I do think its unfortunate that they would make any personal addresses available. I agree with GuerosMama, that for some people, this could be a huge safety issue.
Thank God I'm in Canada, where mugshots aren't "public info". Only police have these types of information. Court is public, mugshots and addresses surely are not. Only time that's released is if they are lookin for you for some reason, or to notify a community of a repeat sexual offender being released. Yey Canada

My mug shot is on there, as well as my Husbands...I didn't even know it was out there...I look at it as a reminder of what I NEVER want to have happen again....my Best girl and I were checkin out friends and ex's it was pretty Funny!!...my Husband has never seen mine and when I told him bout this site he said he wants to see mine...

Who removes them? That seems like it would be illegal to charge to remove them.

As for being on there with addresses, that's like other registries. It's kinda like a registry. Which I think are useless.

I kind of looked it up, and as far as I could understand, it seems that there are some people out there that are trying to make it illegal for sites to charge to take that information down.

yeah my bf is on there with 4 differnt mugshots. : (. I found this site months ago when I googled his name and this was the first thing that showed up. i did not see his address on there. It upsets me because he already will have a hard time finding a job now it's soo easy to put his name in google and that is what pops up. and the charge to take it down is robbery.

side note: it is important to google yourself every so often to see what shows up.

That have those here too... its so wrong, my hubby was in it when he got arrested and i think its just meant to humiliate people.

I like checking out the celebrity mugshots there. I have no interest in people I don't know. My mugshot isn't there, and I have had enough mugshots taken to fill a year book. I would not worry about the information there either. I can tell you this much which I have learned ... if someone wants to find you they will. Mugshots would be my last, if ever, resource for getting information on someone.

To a point, I do think it's necessary to have some of the information up. It's almost like a free background check! It would be nice to know if your new friend/boyfriend or whomever went to prison for making meth. However, I agree that there is WAY too much information up. The address thing really gets me, as a mother, because if my guy were in for something really bad, or had enemies on the outside, (And if it weren't an M.W.I. situation and we had lived together before.) then that would put my son and I in danger. That's just unfair.
Also, I'm lucky that my man isn't on there! I would very much enjoy seeing his mugshot, though.
