Default Snake River units on lockdown

Unit 1C1 and 2I are currently on lockdown for Covid reasons. A CO who tested positive continued working in each of those two units, and The Powers That Be decided to quarantine the units in place.

Adults in Custody (AIC's) are being allowed one 20-minute phone call per week. This is supposed to lift on July 1, 2020.

Another CO tested positive, but my friend isn't sure which units were affected. I've asked my friend to keep me informed as best he can, so that I can keep you all informed. If anyone hears of other units going on lockdown, please post here so people who are worried can worry a little less.

There are now AIC's who are testing positive in unit 1C1. They came off lockdown the morning of 7/1, and at noon they were back on lockdown for at least another 11 days

Yup. 11 more days, phone calls limited to 20 minutes or shorter. My friend called me on 7/2 and said they told him to limit his call to "just long enough to inform [me] of the lockdown". For 1C1, they'll come off lockdown on 7/13.

The same CO was in 2i, but my friend had no info on that unit. And another CO tested positive, so expect more unit lockdowns due to covid.

Default Can you help

When they are on lock down as they are right now, do they still get mail, allowed to shop at commissary etc. ? Or are they completely cut off from everything?
Also do they still have the little newsletter? I haven't been on this site for awhile so need all the information I can get . Finally was able to log on.
Thanks.

They still get mail. They get one phone call per week (I think ... may be 2 phone calls per week) limited to 20 minutes. They're still allowed to do commissary, but they don't get to leave their cell/dorm to do it, it's brought to them. They still have the newsletter, but it's not distributed publicly - the only way to get one is to have an AIC mail you one.

They are not doing testing on inmates unless the inmate is showing symptoms. If anyone tests positive, the lockdown goes on for longer until they're out of quarantine.

It's a tough time for all of us. The best we can do is be patient.
