Question Money on Books & Restitution

My boyfriend is going to either have a restitution of $500 or $1000 (they had to look into it further to see if the snitch, oops, I mean co-defendant paid $500 of it.) My question is, how much will they take when we put money on his books for it? Like is there a percentage of each deposit? Thanks in advance.

PS My username is not what I wanted. It was a typo. I wish I could change it haha.

My LO had his restitution set by the court at sentencing. They took out the same amount once he got locked back up and when he had nothing on the books, the doubled it the next time, but it was only like $20.
He'll get it in writing how much it'll be a month. Or at least he should!
Lol I didn't even pay attention to your name until you mentioned it!

Restitution is set by the court as part of the sentencing or included in the terms of a plea agreement. I have always seen it as percentages - anywhere from 20% to 60%. They will take funds from any money you put on his books and any money he earns.

When my husband was sentenced in Feb., restitution was never mentioned.

Then it's unlikely he has to pay it. That would have been part of his sentencing otherwise.

My son was sentenced and they forgot to include that part in the process. When they realized it, they set another hearing and supplemented.
