Wink Okay another thing LOL (about release)

Just a FYI they said they don't let me give them his clothes anytime before he's released.
*okay taking a big breath to repeat what they told me *
They said that when I go pick him up I give the clothes to the guard guy who gives it "them" who then gives the clothes to the "van people" lol who are the ones that give the clothes to my honey to change outside in a shack when they drop him off to me. LOL

um okay if he is just going to change in a shack AFTER he's dropped off to me then wouldn't it be easier if I just handed him his clothes?

hehe not that I'm complaining but I thought that was kinda funny.....
If anyone knows different please let me know! I'm more confused about the "clothes" issue than anything!! It's funny of all things we have to think about I'm worried about how he gets dressed.

That's what I've heard of how they get their clothes, too. When my husband was in Buckeye, I was waiting at the shack to be checked in and the people before me had their loved one getting released and I saw the lady hand the c/o a whole outfit-shirt, pants, shoes, and belt for her loved one to wear out.
I had heard at one point that you can mail the clothes in too, but not sure if that's correct? My husband said he'd rather me just bring them in, though. Can just see them getting 'lost'. I agree with you, it seems crazy that they have to get handed off multiple times when we could just give them to our guy.

So do you have to take them clothes or can they be released in something from the prison what happens to inmates that dont have family waiting to give them clothes (not that it is an issue I will be taking my wife her own clothes im sure she cant wait to get out of prison issue crap)

aztrekker, if they don't have family or anyone to bring them clothes, they are just released in prison issued clothing. When one of my husband's friends was released, his family didn't bring him clothes so he wore out the state clothes. He was in pants that were high waters on him and a shirt that was way too big, and some beat up shoes. So, I think they just give them whatever-regardless of it fits or not.

Now if it were me, I would have asked them to repeat that and see if they come up with the same story!!

Unhappy Ugh!!!

Grrrrrrrrrr I called today and talked to records AGAIN and now they are telling me that they DON'T release on weekends so he won't be out until Monday.
I told her that the website still showed 6/13 and she said that is wrong.
She doesn't know why they have been telling us that he'll be out. But she did say that I can go anywhere between 7:00a-7:45am to pick him up.

so *sigh* I know it's only a 2 day difference but man the news still made me kinda . I was sooooooooo looking forward to Saturday!!! God I just want to drive down there and shout FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GIVE HIM BACK TO ME ALREADY! lol

Oh well, at least as of tomorrow I can say AGAIN he'll be home in less than a week.

When my husband was released from prison I mailed the clothes into property, they have them to him on the morning of his release to change into. They can also just be released in the old prison blues they used to issue them. Good Luck!

ack, what if he's skinnier or heavier than when he went in? Did you buy him new clothes or getting something from the closet? Heck, I'd rather my man get out naked, save us some time ripping the clothes off later LOL

Yeah I'm going to be there early to make sure he gets his clothes. He says that he wasn't worried to much about me bringing him clothes, he just asked for some sunglasses. He said after being inside for almost a year he figured his eyes are probably going to be in shock to daylight.

God I still can't believe he's almost out!

Oh! I wanted to give you a fyi about the clothes!

No I didn't have to pass them to the guard to give them to whoever to give them to someone else then the van people or whatever Haha!!

When he pulled up in the van, I just gave his clothes to 1 guard that hands it directly to him. That's it!

Sheesh! they made it sound like I had to get the clothes blessed by the pope first....
