Sam, You are totally GOOD! Do NOT stress at all!!! If you own a house, the PO will not hassle you all that much! PO just wants to make sure there is a permanent address, decent living quarters, etc. (ie, not living in a house with wheels, where a meth lab use to be, etc etc etc)

Keep in mind, they are way over loaded with cases, and as long as you a friendly, abide by the rules he/she sets, and follows the conditions of parole, your hubby will be fine!!!

If a parole officer comes to you house, he/she has the right to enter and look around. You need to be honest as to who lives there, as a released inmate "can not associate with known felons". There are instances where all they do is drive by, other times, the really want to see inside. Like I said, they are way over loaded with cases.

I have dogs, and they are super friendly, but I have heard of Parole officers having issues with Pit Bulls, or houses that has an excessive number of dogs.

Not to scare you at all, but my brother is an attorney, and he has described it this way....a parole officer is "police, judge and jury". Any mistake, the parole officer has all of these powers!

But as far as the home, the PO just wants to know that your husband has a place to go....otherwise, the state needs to find a half way house for him.

My husband isn't out yet but I have a friend who just went thru this and she said she contacted the parole officer to find out when her husband had to report in after getting released. Then he made an appt to meet her and see the residence but he didn't show up. So she called him and be said something happened/he couldn't get there and that he would just drive by her house.
