I WAS going To Ask the Same Question??? lol... I plan going to visit on the Nov 1st or around the being of Nov and I know that Folsom is appox 400 miles from where I live. I need some driving directions coming from the 5 to the 99. I will be driving from Ventura County. My husband was at Wasco for awhile so I would take the Hwy 5 to the 99 and then that was it. Now I know... I can stay on the 99 to go to Folsom is this correct? Can some one Help both of Us woman with directions and where to park, where to go for our visit. etc. Thank you and God Bless Us all. I hope everyone had a nice weekend.

ok, guys, I have answered the visiting question in the chit chat.... have a look there, and if you guys want to know more, send me a pm.

for those from LA they say they have a 8 hour drive at least. the indications of the access you find on the prison home page
http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/Visitors/Facilities/SAC.html
you can watch it there.... or you use a Map, it is only 5 minute (not even) from FOLSOM. if I am right, you take the highways up to Sacramento.
when you fly, Sacramento is the nearest..... you have at least one hour maybe even more from the airport (rental car) (driving about one hour, rental car procedure half an hour if you are lucky) so if you dont arrive there in the morning before 6 am, you will not reach the prison at time for the first bus at prison, means you dont have full time of visiting.

if you drive up there, maybe the cheapest place to stay is the youth hostel in Sacramento..... but if you search in older threads here, you will find talking about hotels and such things.
http://www.norcalhostels.org/sac/

hope that helps..... good luck!

Well....My babe's in New Folsom AKA California State Prison (CSP) Sacramento and that's also Represa

If the address is PO BOX 29
Represa, CA 95671

You are writting New Folsome AKA CSP Sacramento

Does this help?

the correct abbreviation is CSP SAC (California STate Prison Sacramento)
Po Box is 290066

..... and yes, it is new Folsom.....

the rest of the address indicates the yard, block and cell number
A B or C is yard, 1 to 8 Block and the three last numbers are cell.

and if you want to see it: here the link http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/Visitors/Facilities/SAC.html

Default I think i've got it lol

YES IT HELPS
I finally got it.....
He is in New Folsom CSP-SAC

Do you know anything about the dockets? (pics)
How much do they cost, do you have to pay with your dollars or quarters?
Is there a limit?
Is CSP labeled outside? Do not want to drive in to the wrong one LOL

the photos cost 2$ and you need coins for the machine. they are at the entrance of the visitors center at the oposite wall as the desk is where you have to get your needed stamps on you hand and show your ID and all this.....
there is no limit of the pics you can take, except there might be one, if there are to many people. it happened to me once, so the last pics I have not been able to use. but it happens rare and you can use them the next time you go there...... (difficult for me, as there can be years in between; so I was able to sell them to an other woman who visits regular; nice gesture from her!)

no, CSP is NOT labeld outside, at least not in a way I did pay attention to it. when you go left from the main road onto prison grounds, you have to take the first RIGHT and it leads you to New Folsom. when you get to the "cross road" you go left on the parking lodge. (straight is for staff only; they cross the gate there with their cars)

hopes this makes sense to you....

What is the correct format for an inmates address at New Folsom? My BF is in the Gym.
I am also curious if visits are contact or behind glass.
Last but not least when ordering a package for inmates in the Gym what privledge group are they A/B or D?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you

Thank you Shush,

I appreciate you trying to help.

I've tried calling the prison a couple of times but it seems like no matter what ex. I enter, noone will answer the phones or call me back when I leave messages.

Kind of odd.

Thank you again and have a great day!

cat, i know they have some good groups there. most of all one which is called the "mens group". they also have a prison news paper.... visiting seems to be good, as there were not many people visiting, but my last one is now 1.5 years ago.
sorry there are no more information. all what i share here is what i learned in the past. this is not an actual information. so hope things will be ok for your loved one! good luck.
