Default Drug Rehab Program? Is it possible to shorten sentence if he is in rehab?

My guy is still in county but he goes to court in a short time. He is going to try to get into a drug rehab program, will that shorten his sentence is he is in one?

Well, it depends. Is this the first time? Was it violent or sexual in nature? Also, if one truly has a substance abuse or alcohol problem, the last thing I would be worried about is the length of time spent behind bars. Active substance abusers and/or alcoholics will simply get into trouble again, and again...if they do not truly get help and change their lives.

My Son is in prison for drugs. He was first a big time user , Then starting selling to afford his habit. I use to pray that he would get caught , and maybe that would make him change . When he was caught selling , they didn't want him but who he was selling for. And he wouldn't give them the info. I have talked him into going into drug rehab, not because it will shorten his time, But because he needs it. He also goes to church in there, And is working on getting his GED . He will have to serve two years . And has been there 7 months. And I agree with if they don't get the help they need , they will just go back in the system again. I wish they could all see how it is such a waste of a life.
