No joke. I bring in between $35 and $40. I drink water, maybe a soda and the rest is to feed him. If we had more frequent visits I'd have to cut him off.

Ladies I could really use your help/advice/maybe experience by you or someone you know. My friend was visiting her brother with his girlfriend. Unfortunately my friend (being stupid) brought some stuff in and got caught. She was taken away and so was her brother. They search her (she already passed the stuff along) and informed her she can no longer visit and the courts will be contacting her. The question her and her family are concerned about is what happens to him? They have never gone through this. He had the contents on him while they searched him. Will he be sent to the shu? If so how long? Will he be losing visits, if so how long? The CO told her, he can lose them up to 3 years which seems a little long to me. And I'm sure he will be losing phone and other things he should be able to do. If you have any information or can ask someone you know who went through this my friends family would appreciate it so much. Thank you

Yes, he is likely to go to the shu and lose visits. Beyond the trial within prison, also, the district attorney may file additional criminal charges against him. This is Title 15, which is the laws and policies that govern the institutions.

http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/Regulations/A...tle15-2015.pdf

(c) Upon a finding of guilt of a drug related offense, as described in subsections 3323(c)(6) and/or 3323(d)(7), the official conducting a disciplinary hearing, shall suspend and restrict an inmate’s visiting privileges pursuant to subsections 3315(f)(5)(H) and 3315(f)(5)(I).

The sentence for trafficking is 6, 10, or 15 months in segregation:
(E)
Trafficking in Drugs: Distributing controlled substances in an institution or camp or causing controlled substances to be brought into an institution or camp for the purpose of distribution.

Thank you I will pass the information along. Sometimes people just need to be smarter about things and think is it really worth it.

Good afternoon ladies!. I was wondering if anyone was willing to give me one of their appointments for the weekend of the 23rd and the 24th. me and my husband got married 6 months today and I got my visits taken on my wedding day because I had a tampon in my bra. I didn't want the whole world knowing that I was on my period and I know that I should have just had it in my clear bag. Mistakes happen. this will be the first time I'm seeing him since we got married and I'm hoping that I can see him ASAP , it's so hard to make an*appointment*through the vpass. again thank you and I hope to hear from someone soon.also I'm new to this prison I've never visited there before my husband just got there yesterday from high desert state prison and from what I hear some things are different so can someone be kind enough to give me the whole rundown of when I should get there what I should wear how long I'll be able to visit or things like that. thank you so much

***I'm going to keep this in a Word doc on my computer and may repost when we have a newbie. I'll keep a date on it and welcome corrections or updates as needed. Thanks again to everyone who participates here and makes this difficult process a little easier***

Welcome to KVSP! updated 5/14/15
Visiting Sgt. Graham is helpful and on good days, pretty funny.
The Visiting office can be reached at (661)721-6300 ext-5708

Getting An Appointment
You can book appointments two weeks in advance. ASU appointments must be made via telephone (see below). Contact visits may be made through VPASS.

VPASS opens at 8pm Sunday evenings. Appointments are usually gone on VPASS within 5 minutes. As of February 2015, VPASS appointments must be attended by the person holding the VPASS account. In other words: If Wilma books an appointment for herself and Betty, Betty cannot visit without Wilma. Wilma can visit without Betty.

You can call to get an appt. Mon-Fri between 7-8am and 12-1pm. The phone lines can be very, very busy and you are allowed to make an appt. for one day per call.
(661) 720-4952

Walk-ins (no appointment, contact visit) are taken at 1100am.

The Day of Your Visit
Arrive no more than one hour before your appt. time. Be prepared to show ID at the guard station. Park in the farthest lot near the trailer. A line begins forming about 7:30am.

Photo ducats are purchased from a machine near the head of the line. They are $2 apiece. Inmates can also purchase the ducats through canteen.

KVSP participates in random ION scanning. Once called to be processed, the CO will indicate when to press the button located on the counter. For questions related to ION Scanner use, look here: http://www.cdcr.ca.gov/Regulations/A...Final_Text.pdf

Vending machines are available, the entrees range from $4-7. Drinks $1-2.50. Candy, $1.50ish.

The max dollar amount is $50 per adult and $20 per child. You may bring your money is $1's, dollar coins and quarters.

Dress Code
it’s all about the boobs, bounce, and form fitting ~Lassy2013

Clothing No-no’s:
blue (of any shade)
tan top with tan bottoms
orange
green
black bottoms with red tops
solid white shirt
hoods, hats, scarves
camo (unless in military uniform with military ID)
form fitting anything
skirts/dresses must be no more than 1” above your knee with your arms raised
nothing sleeveless (cap sleeves are subjective), even if you're wearing a sweater over the top
sheer/see-thru/lacey
underwire bras
piercings (yes, even the surgically implanted sort…you are permitted one pair of earrings)

Shoes are pretty flexible—provided no part of your foot extends past the sole and that the sole is made of something more substantial than foam. Avoid low-end flip-flops and you’ll probably be ok.

Y’all know how much I love our KVSP family! If you still have questions, show up the day of your visit and find yourself freaking out, or any of the other zillion things that come with having a loved one in prison…ask for help! Here in the forum, in line at visiting or through PM’s. We’re friendly and don’t usually bite on days that end in ‘y’.

Ok ladies I think its finally time to go visit! Im so nervous and excited. Its been a long time since our son and I have seen him due to being in the shu and living so far away.. My plan is to go visit the last weekend of this month so the 30th and 31st. I plan on making the visits through VPass like you all helped me with the info. I wanted to ask do I need to put my son who's a minor (7 years old) info on the VPass as a visitor. Last but not least given that we can make the visits 2 weeks ahead of the visits that mean this Sunday correct?

Yes, appointments for the 30/31st will open this Sunday.

According to VPASS:
20. How do I add and bring a minor for a visit?
VPASS does not require the age of the visitor. As long as you have the necessary paperwork or documentation for the minor, VPASS does not restrict you from adding the minor as an additional visitor. However, minors may not register their own user account.

I would add your son's name to your account.

Thank you! Ill take care of that. Another question is there anything you do before 8pm to have it ready so once the time slots open you can book the appointment? I just want to be prepared. We haven't seen him in 2 years and were from 5 1/2 hours away so I just want things to go smoothly as possible.

I make sure I have the page open and ready to hit send and I do few practice runs to make sure my computer and network are working properly.

I had the same luck too. I was on 10 minutes before 8 kept refreshing the new dates didn't show up until 8:03 for me. I was able to get a time for saturday but when I went to confirm my computer slowed down and by that time it was gone. I rushed to get to sunday and was all booked. Ugh was really hoping this was going to work out so my son could see his dad its ben 2 years. He called tonight and our son said I can't wait to see you. Ladies if any of you decide to cancel your appointment please let me know. I don't no if it matter what yard they are in but he's in A yard. Also wanted to ask about walk in. What time does that start and what the luck with getting in?

I'm sorry to hear about the appointments (or lack of!) tonight.
Definitely try calling the appointment number if you're able. It's not fun, but it does work.
Keep checking back here closer to the dates and remind us that you're looking. Folks are pretty good about letting others know when they are going to cancel.
Don't panic yet!
