Has anyone heard anything about when they think this lockdown at McCreary will end? Through New Years? I keep getting voicemail when I call.

The Challenge Program is discussed on Page 10.
https://www.bop.gov/inmates/custody_...ramCatalog.pdf

and what the McCreary A&O Handbook (admission & orientation) says about it:

CHALLENGE PROGRAM: The CHALLENGE program is a residential program in unit 6B. The unit operates on a modified therapeutic
community model. It is intended for men interested in making positive lifestyle changes. Various group and individual therapeutic activities take place over a nine-month to one year period. The CHALLENGE program is based on the belief that individuals have the necessary power to change if given the right tools and opportunity to do so. The CHALLENGE program is about making a transition from former negative, criminal lifestyles to a new, honorable, and more positive way of living. If you are interested in the CHALLENGE program, please submit a cop-out stating your interest to the CHALLENGE Program Coordinator.

Chapter 5 of the bop's "Psychology treatment program statement" (pages 61 through 67) has more details.

Default Visitation

Visitation officially suspended for 30 days minimum, and talk of a total federal lockdown, which hasn’t happened in 20 years. Limited manpower being cited as the reason. Not sure if they’re locked in or not as of right now, but I would imagine if they aren’t, they will be soon.

The "All visiting at this facility has been suspended until further notice". banner is flying on the McCreary web page. That usually means a lockdown, but since the bop has stopped all visitation system wide for at least one month, that may have changed. I expect the prisons to do the little they can do to limit close contact between the inmates, so it is possible that lockdowns and/or modified lockdowns will remain in place everywhere.

This was added to the bop's corona virus action plan today.

MODIFIED OPERATIONS: For the next 30 days, the BOP will implement nationwide modified operations to maximize social distancing and limit group gatherings in our facilities. For example, depending on the facility's population and physical layout, the institution may implement staggered meal times, recreation, etc. These modifications will be reevaluated in 30 days.

Exclamation Early release due to COVID-19

Anyone else happy the virus is leaving to mass releases?Barr has removed the restriction on seminar inmates to home confinement no more than 6m from release basically saying get as many people out after they have been quarantined for 14 days. My loved one is set to be released in August to HH but was also approved for home confinement and we are expecting release to be soon. He was even given information on his bus route to HH in GA. So I'm like, soon and very soon. I just hope it's soon enough to keep him healthy. I saw this coming n I pray he is ready for release and in general theses mass releases are not ticking time bombs.

Hi There,

May I ask where you got this information? I've been looking for more information regarding early release.
