In federal prisons in Canada, (the only prisons where families can get together for short periods (72-96 hours), the prisoner must be married, or viisitors must be immediate family to be eligible. The rules in the pens are more liberal than in most states, and waiting time between visits are relatively short compared to what I've read in Prison Talk (usually 1 month - 6 weeks in between visits). Initally from application time to approval takes up to 3 months.
Lifers and dangerous offenders are the only prisoners who are not eligible for any type of early release; most everyone else does 2/3 of their sentenced time. Good time is not an option for the aforementioned, so visits of this type are preferred.
Not only is the family unit kept together and strengthend, relief from the oppressive nature of the pens is available. All pens in Canada have this program and many started in the 1980's. Some pens allow solo excursions as well. A prisoner can go to the unit for 72 hours if the space is available.
In short, the program is welcomed by most, and is by far, one of the better programs offered by the pens.

Right now, only 6 states allow conjugal visits. Fed-X, am I right? And right now, pretty a few states allow good time up to 50% off the original sentence depending on the severity of the various charges. Since we already have those in some states, why are we complaining about wanting more laws on these issues? I just don't understand? If we want a law changed, then we have to pick ONE that's MORE important to us then we can take action on writing up a bill proposal and send it to the state legistature then they'll take consideration. So now, I already rolled up my sleeves and ready to brainstorm on an legal outline so I can write a proposal for ONE of these. So... tell me, people, which's more important to yoU???????????

Although all of us with inmates in federal prison would love to have conjugal visits, I am going with Sentence reduction! I would love to have my hubby home earlier than expected.

I say sentence reduction because even if time is longer it might help.

Default Family visits

HI, I just now stumbled on this poll. I definitely would go for sentence reduction regardless if the sentence "short" or "long". That's what we are working on now, to reduce his sentence and he has now like 20 years! ugh! Just saying it takes my breath away. On a different note, I was wondering what are the 6 states that allow extended/conjugal visits and how can I confirm/find that out?

Much appreciated,

So some guy is sentenced to serve time for some crime, then we give him sex visits?

That doesn't sound like much punishment to me.

Im not sure if I can voice my thoughts correctly.
I live in Louisiana. We do less than half our sentances (except agg charges)
But people's sentances are crazy long. in another state you would get 5 here u get 10.
Id rather suck it up & get hin home! But..... Over ten Louisiana years..... Let me see him with out glass between us!

Sentence reduction or course. Why don't they take into consideration good behavior, or if in Honor Dorms. My husbands under the old law there are no good behavoir days but how I wish there was atleast something to get him home sooner.
