Default Parole Plan & Housing

My friend and I were talking today about parole plans and such. Her boyfriend is getting ready to submit his parole plan. She asked me if it had to be disclosed to the landlord, that her boyfriend, who would be living with her, was a recent parolee (he would be if accepted) and if all of the crimes had to be disclosed. She has lived in this home for over 3 years and has a good relationship with the landlord but he doesn't know about her bf. She doesn't want to move but rather tell the landlord that he is moving in, put him on the lease and go on with life. With the parole system, I'm not sure that the landlord wouldn't be informed that a felon was living in his property. If that is the case, how do others do it? How do they get people to rent to them, knowing that this person is re-entering and has record?

I am not sure about other states, but in WV if the prospective parolee is going to be living in a home that is rented, the landlord is contacted by the parole officer as part of their home plan investigation/approval process.
