My Brother is being harassed by another inmate.

I know this website is mostly for people in Prison, my brother is in County Jail but I need some help or advice.

My brother is just barely 20 years old, and he was arrested for smoking marijuana, now he's in county jail and he's being harassed by a much older, much larger inmate.

This guy follows my brother around anytime they're out of the cells screaming profanities and threatening him. He told my brother that he's going to beat him, and that he'll get another charge for it, so he's going to make sure it's worth it. He told everyone on their cell block that my brother is there because he's a child molester. He goes into the shower while my brother is showering and yells his name, when my brother looks he calls him a homosexual, just not in the nice way. My brother calls me everyday, and when he got off the phone with me one time, the guy asked 'How's your sister?' and my brother said 'She's good' and he asked 'Did she tell you to stop calling her?' I also put money on my brother's books every time I get paid so he can buy underwear and other food items, and today he had some candy in his shirt pocket and he went into the common room and ate a piece and the guy said 'You come out here with one piece of candy just for yourself asshole?' and my brother said 'No, I have plenty, I can share' and the guy started screaming at him and telling him he's a worthless asshole child molesting effer.

My brother is just a kid really, he's never been in jail, and he's really having a hard time. I just wanted to know if legally there is anything I can do from the outside about this guy harassing him? And he doesn't mess with anyone else, just my brother. I'm really afraid he's going to hurt my brother. He was arrested for hitting his own brother in the head with a tire iron. If anyone else has had any similar situations or have any advice, I'd really appreciate it.

First this sites for all the ppl with loved ones locked away. Prison or jail so welcome.

This is a really tough one because if you call and tell on the Guy there may be c/o's that will make it worse for him. The best thing he can do if he's actually in fear for his safety is try and talk to a counsler or a trusted correctional officer and see about maybe getting moved to a different part of the facility. If they see this guys harassing him and that it may lead to a issue I think they will have no problem moving one of them so it can be prevented.
