I'm sure you're feeling some sort of relief that your son is sounding more like himself. That is a good sign and will help you all to move forward. I'm hoping that the signed visiting forms get to you soon. It seems like the mail doesn't move fast enough - especially when you're waiting for something this important! I remember when we filled out our first forms. My son had signed them, but my husband forgot to write down his DL # and he had to fill out another one - which meant more waiting! Hopefully, everything will move fast for you and you'll soon be on your way to see your son!

I know that taking it day by day sounds easier said than done, but it really is the only way to get through this. You will have good days and bad days - we all do - but that just seems to be the nature of the beast. This is not an easy road, but don't forget that we are all here for you.

Let us know as soon as you're approved! I can't wait for some good news!

I got the forms back in the mail. I woke up last night with him so heavy on my mind. His daughter starts kindergarten on Wednesday. She is so excited but her asthma is kicking in with all the firms going on around them. I guess my ex dil will be having surgery soon. I offered to take the kids but since my granddaughter will now be in school, her other grandma will be talking care of them. Sometimes I feel bad that the other grandma has to do everything to help since she lives local to them. But at least I know their in good hands and she loves them as much as I do, and that does comfort me.

I hope all o your loved ones are doing well. Sometimes I think how great it would be if we all could sit down with coffee and have a visit. I do appreciate all of you who take your time to read my posts and respond. I think of you all & your children and keep you in my prayers.

I'm thankful to hear that your son is writing to you, and that you're getting closer to sorting out visitation. I hope that process goes quickly. I'm keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm glad you got the forms! That visit and Hug is getting closer!
Your grandchildren are so lucky to have 2 sets of grandparents that are there for them! I hope the granddaughter stays healthy, that first year of school my youngest caught every germ that came down the pike! He had a hard time until all his teeth were in, once he was done with that he stayed healthy. The other son was strong like bull~ he never got sick. I worried about the younger one getting sick in prison but so far he's been very healthy.
It wont be long now and you will be able to see your son!!

I'm with RaRi totally that it is a HUGE BLESSING that his children have 2 sets of Loving Caring grandparents!!! AWESOME!
One day, I hope you invite us all to a pool party for coffee!!! I smile when I think of having coffee with you and this family!!! (You'll have to give us east coasters a years notice, so we can save up to get there!).....one day.....
I'll be praying that your granddaughter can stay germ free!

Wow, you did get those forms back FAST! That tells me that your son is on top of things and is very anxious to see his family! Now all you have to do is wait to be approved and you will be on your way to see your son! May the approval happen soon!

How exciting that your granddaughter starts kindergarten. If you can, take pictures and send some to your son. I'm sure he'd love seeing her first day. I know how fortunate you feel having another set of grandparents who you can trust. We are lucky that way, too, and it gives us peace of mind knowing that they love our grandson as much as we do.

Thank you all. My granddaughter is still pretty sick. She'll have to miss her first day. She was a 28 week premature baby. She has had a lot of respiratory problems all her life. it's gotten better as she's got older. But something's make it works.

Yes I'm happy our precious babies have 2 sets of grandparents who love & cherish them. I can tell my son is really getting anxious to see the family.

I'll be looking forward to the coffee by the pool party. 😉

She is adorable - -so happy she got to do her first day of school! I hope it was wonderful and that she falls in love with her teacher.

I am so happy that your son is doing a little better. I can't wait until you post about that first visit - that first hug! we will be crying and laughing and dancing!

Oh Dee Dee I am so heartbroken for you. I don't know what to say. I haven't been in the forum for so many months and today I came back and I see so much sadness from everyone. I would love to put my arms around you and give you so many hugs to help you with your pain. This is a long hard road and I feel like every day I'm dieing a little more inside. Everyone here cares. I know how you feel, life w/o. It doesn't look like my son will ever get out. He was 19 when arrested. Now he is 24. He never had the chance to have children. Most likely won't. Unless some female CO has pity on him and... well, whatever. The point is that I won't have any grand babies from him. THAT breaks my heart.

I know it's hard and your situation is very difficult, but you have the chance to love your grand children and have a part of your son on the outside. Kiss those grand babies and love them. Your son is lucky to have a mom like you who will bring your family's life to him on the inside.
