Default Self surrender date, but no letter or location?

I was sentenced 30 days ago. I decided to call the marshal's office since I've yet to receive a letter stating my ss date/location. When I called, they told me that my date is the 21st of this month, & they have no location for me yet! So I have less than 2 weeks for them to find a prison & send out the letter, me receive the letter and find a way to get to wherever they send me! Smh. This is crazy.

Can't remember which book it was but one guy wrote that he never did get his letter. If he hadn't been calling the Marshalls regularly all hell would have broken loose.

I hope you receive your letter in plenty of time. If not, ask your lawyer to file for a continuance since the bop hasn't notified you in a timely manner.

What you definitely don't want is to be told to self surrender to the US Marshals instead of directly to a prison. The biggest benefit in self surrendering is being able to avoid transport, in chains, all over the country by the Marshals.

I found out 2 days before my surrender date. This is typical. Call marshalls every few days.
