Default Website to schedule visitation for North Central

Can anyone give me the website to schedule visitation? Apparently the phones have not been working correctly for weeks. There is supposedly a website to schedule visit and get a confirmation number. It is not listed on the Ohio Department of Corrections website though. Thank for any help.

Since you are asking in this thread I assume your friend is in North Central Correctional. I also have a friend there and have visited a few times.

The response posted just prior to your question is still the correct information for scheduling a visit. Last I visited, they didn't require a reservation for out-of-state visitors. I have found them to be responsive via email with questions regarding visitation.

First, however, if you haven't already done so, you need to submit a visitor application. The visitor application can be found at the ODRC web site under Offender Information > Offender Visitation.

They are much less responsive when it comes to the visitor application. The email address for scheduling visitation won't help you at all when it comes to the application. It seems to work best if you mail the application in hard copy to the attention of the inmate's case manager. If you are in contact with your friend he can give you that name, or you may be able to get it by calling the prison and asking (you'll need his DOC number). We've also found it can take anywhere from 48 hours to a few weeks to get the application approved. So, be sure you fill the form out carefully. You will need to include a copy of some kind of bill with your current address on it.

Assuming you are able to get approved and schedule a visit, here are a few tips about NCCC:
- There are three prisons and a county jail all on the same stretch of road outside Marion. Be sure you go to the right one so you don't waste time.
- The prison does a prisoner count at 11:00 am (I think, or maybe it's 10:30). At that time all processing of visitors and movement of prisoners stops until count is complete. Any prisoners already in the visitation room are counted there and are unaffected. So it is best to get to the prison early so you get in before everything stops for count. I've been four times, and I just got there by 7:30 am each time.
- Bring a quarter for the locker, and a $5 bill to purchase a vending machine card. That's the only way and your friend can have food or drink during the visit. You must have a $5 bill, specifically, to purchase the card, and then you can add additional money. Some of that first $5 is kept as a fee.
- Be aware of the dress code, which is included in the visitor packet, but each prison can add its own requirements -- for example, NCCC doesn't allow open-toed shoes. Last time i was there I saw a family being turned away because the infant with them had bare feet. So just bring extra clothing in case anything you're wearing turns out to be prohibited.

Good luck!

Hi Lala yvonne No one on this site can answer North Central's phone or make a visitation appointment. PTO is not affiliated with any DOC or the BOP....we're a support site for the loved ones of those in prison.
