I spoke with Randall Smith but did not hire him. But any parole attorney in the state can take your case. No need for them to be close to you. Good luck finding the right attorney to fit your needs

Concur with the statement that you not limit your search to just the Houston area. The good ones will travel Statewide to visit with their client after being hired.

Default Parole Lawyers in Houston

I agree with the prior comments that most parole attorneys are willing to travel, so you don't need to limit your search to Houston.

Always talk with a few attorneys before you make a decision. You need to find out exactly what services they will be providing, and exactly what you will be paying for them. I've looked around at a number of other parole attorneys in Texas and the service varies. Some questions you might want to ask:

- Will the attorney request a personal meeting with the parole panel (can you come), a phone conference, or no conference at all?
- Will they speak with your loved one in-person, by phone, or only by correspondence?
- How much contact will you have with the attorney?
- Will the attorney personally speak with you and the other family members?
- Will the attorney contact other supporters in the community?
- Will s/he advise you on how and what to share with the Board?
- What type of information will the attorney be putting together for the board?
- Have they been doing parole work long enough to have some idea how it works? (what is their background)
- Do they handle the type of offense that your loved one is incarcerated for?
- How much will they charge? And is it a flat fee, or hourly?

After you have some answers from a few attorneys, see who you feel comfortable with. There is no such thing as a good attorney for every case, since every attorney has different backgrounds, skills, and styles. Only you can decide if a particular attorney is a good one for your case.

Hopefully, having some insight into how to compare attorney can take some of the stress out of the process. Good luck finding the right attorney for your loved one.

James Randall Smith but must hire well in advance. He even went and talked to him. Mr. Smith will be honest with you.

I retained Tammy Peden, 3 years back and there were a few bumps in the road (but not due to her) my husband was moved from to Unit he was having issues and is now coming home next month. Never met Tammy myself but had constant updates from her staff, they were wonderful. Tammy is located in Houston Texas.
Time soon coming to an end....Yet ours will resume...
