I don't know if there's really any truth to it or not but my husband's cellie told him that 80% of the people who had parole hearings at BVCC this week were granted parole. Has anyone else heard anything? I think the State's budget is really bad and we might be seeing a lot more of this, especially with first time offenders. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I haven't heard this about Sterling.. I'll have to ask tomorrow night. I can only hope as Roy sees the board in May (of course we know the chances are very slim he's going anywhere).

My husband said there were very few people that moved on to the full board at Trinidad. He was lucky enough to be one of them but we will see how the full board decides!

Yeah it would be easier to figure out which parole board member does which facility...7 members / 28 facilities = 4 facilities per member...yuck. It could just be another one of those wicked rumors that my husband knows better than to listen to so I'm not putting too much into it at all.

My cousin called me a couple weeks ago to tell me he did get paroled. He said that it is very unusual on a 2 year sentence, to get paroled, especially since this isn't his first time. He worked really hard on his presentation though (35 min long!), and he has basically been strategizing (sp?) on what would impress the board since the day he went in. So I am not sure if it was that or if it is the budget.

Good luck to everyone though, I'll be crossing my fingers that it was both! (he was really proud of his presentation, wouldn't want it to be for nothing LOL)

My hubby heard a rumor that 80% of the guys who had parole hearings at BVCC were granted parole. We don't usually listen to "prison rumors" though. He's never been paroled early either...so ask your cuz what he had in his presentation. My hubby should be up for parole next year but we're hoping to have him in comcor before that.
